found a Carbon fiber look for a great price.

I went by a local shop and asked about doing my E55 engine cover in carbon fiber. They said it would be around $500. Thought was a pretty decent deal if any one was interested. I am still deciding on my setup. They have some interesting colors and do interior pieces also.

Is it the water transfer process that they use.

They apply and I believe they paint and color/clearcoat from what I could tell. They had sets of rims there that were done. A GT500 there had everything done in the motor pretty much, valve covers, coil covers, they did the rear wing also.

I hope you're talking about airboxes too, or that price is nuts. You can get real CF engine cover for slightly more from VRP.

I also don't know as I'd trust that finish in a hot engine compartment. I'm not knocking it, but would want some sort of assurance beforehand that it would last.

That was the whole cover including airboxes. They have valve covers coated on a 1200 hp Ford GT, I think it would hold up on our cars. I am not selling here just passing along what I found at a local show they were having.

I would rather get a real CF cover from a company that has been making tehm for a long time. Also I heard that there are a couple companies that are sponsors here that sell these covers and intake boxes as their own. Just in case you guys are not aware of who makes a lot of the CF intakes/ covers on the market is Carbonio. I've had one before on my GTI and it was a very high quality piece.
