what you think i'm doing wrong

for starters:
1. the heat is a big factor
2. your 60' of 2.2 means that you may have spun the tires and the ecu backed you down.
3. you need more experience launching what can be a tricky car to launch.
4. what type of tires are you running?

I think you just need some practice to get 60's down. also did you let the car cool down at all before running it? Heatsoak is a **** on our cars and really hurts performance.

Intermittent IC pump is likely your culprit, the MPH tells the tale.
That's almost exactly what my car ran right before the pump failed completely.
The good thing is that the fix is free, if under warranty, $175 for a Johnson pump (CM030) if not.

I was thinking the pump too or something else isn't right. When I had 19" Conti3 I would go anywhere from 1.9 to 2.2 on my 60' but still ran mid 12s with 115-117 for trap speed and that was in Sac with the temp being 96 degrees. In fact my first run was with Alan in the car and I started in second gear and left off at the end to stay above 14 so they wouldn't complain about the passenger in the car and I still got a 12.8 @102. I only hit 13.1-13.2 when I was trying different launching techniques and my 60' were 2.4-2.5 from the ESP kicking from all the wheel spin since I loaded it up too much. I'd get it looked at then get back out there and have some fun! So I think it's safe to say he's not really doing anything wrong, who doesn't need help launching these but he can't be the cause for such a low trap speed.

You don't have to get up to 120mph I was just saying that's what happened to mine. The time I was playing with the BMW was never above the speed limit, I was just getting on it hard to climb up to 60 then coming back down and getting back on it again. It didn't take more then a few times for it to shut off. I'd just explain those symptoms to MB and demand the pump get replaced. That's what I did with mine since they clearly will not do a test drive at 120mph to diagnose the car and the codes will not come up. Worse case you get a new pump even if that's not the issue but it sounds like it especially if everything else seems to be running fine.

Just when you have the fog lights turned on right? Not sure if you know but the rear driver light when the brakes are not applied and the fog lights are turned on will be brighter then the passenger one. It's a rear fog light, I get told all the time my light is out or pulled over and have to explain that to them.
