Famoso Raceway Midnight-----3:00am Session 8/22/09
I know its late notice: But it is what it is!!
I got the the Famoso track rented this friday night from midnight to 3am. I guess its really Saturday morning. This is a Private limited session Ive arranged.
The date is this friday the 21st. 150.00 per car. Looks like the temp will be in the low 70's.
So far the list is as follows. I need a few more guys. You could easily get 2-3 runs a hour or more if you want. There will be excellent track prep for us. The regular TnT is 8-12 on friday, Then they re-prep the track for us. We get 1 lane, Everything else is takin care of. Probably run from 12:30 to 3:30 or so! Come take advantage of the weather, no lines and a excellent prepped track!
1.) Ryan/ 300C Novi
2.) Adam/ KB Challenger
3.) Paul/ Whipple Mustang
4.) Ken/ KB Mustang
5.) Alberto KB Charger
6.) Cam/ N/A Magnum
7.) Trojan/ KB Challenger
8.) Roger Holder/ Not sure but it runs 7 sec 1/4 miles.
9.) Ben/ DaWagon. Stack Performance N/A Heads/Cam car.
10.) SVS Bob /Pro Street Nova
11.) AAK/ Charger srt8
14.) MB_Forever / Mercedes-Benz E63 Stock
15.) Shawn / Mercedes-Benz E55 Stage 4
16.) James Cobb
I can only put 15 cars out there, I may be giving one to SVS Bob, that would leave 3 spots open at this point.
If you gonna pick 1 race and 1 track this winter this is the BEST your gonna get.
No Lines, Great Prep, and a good good track!

Wow, what a night..... great cars out there.... ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
We ended up racing from 1:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.
but temps were still too high at the track
it started out with 83 F at 1:00 a.m. then cooled down to 69 F by 3:30. High temps and high humidity unfortunately affected everybody that was there last night: Shawn pulled a best of 11.54 @ 120 mph, my car pulled a miraculous 12.37 @ 113 mph after a bunch of 12.6 to 12.8 @ 110, and 426Hemi got a best of 10.19 (he was so close to flat 10s and even 9s). The only cars that were running 9s were mustangs.... these guys kept getting faster and faster with every pass until the last minute ![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
All in all, it was a great night and extremely fun event.... one that I would do again in a heart beat. We had the entire track to ourselves (14 cars), got both lanes opened and prepped just for us, got the parking lot mini races setup, and finally the tower
setup just perfect. We even took over the time slip printer
Alan, how did Mike do? How about others? Did you get to run?

Mike ran his best time at the end of the night, 11.84 and 11.87 with low 1.7's. It was completely empty last night and I hoping for the same on Sept 4 (got the date right this time

Nice times Mo and Shawn! I'm very impressed with the times with the conditions of last night.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
. What kind of 60' times were you and Shawn getting? I take it that track prep was outstanding as usual from Famoso.

). I also spoke with the track officials about our MB event coming up and explained the situation. They seemed very welcoming and willing to give us the lead way to hit our goals. They'll also put up the 60' times on the board so the drivers could view it after the launch. This will help Mikey and I coordinate our 10 second pass together...if it happens.

Track prep was very good. We ran right after the open test n tune session, which included some very fast dragsters and funny cars so they were forced to over-prep the track for us
In my car, I was averaging 2.05 60' time but Shawn was able to pull a couple of 1.9x in my car which eventually yielded the 12.37 pass. For Shawn's car, I believe he was between 1.69 to 1.71 the entire night, and finally the super fast Mustangs were pulling 1.4x 60' time. I told them we have a super secret CLS63 that does 1.4x in the 60'
The heat and high humidity affected the cars a great deal. Many people experienced 4 mph loss from their usual trap speeds.

I'm not sure how he likes it yet.... his best pass with his car was 11.51 @ 122 which was made when his car was Stage 3 (Pulley + ECU + Headers + TB) with a Powerchip box tune and no cooling mods. Now he has added heat exchanger + CM030 + custom tune on top of his old setup but because weather was very ugly yesterday, he still didn't break his old record. He needs different headers, as the evosport headers are too old of a design and too restrictive.

Given the bad conditions you guys had that night running a 11.51 @ 122 is pretty good if you ask me. I'm sure in more favorable conditions his car will easily be in the 11.3's. What were the conditions when he ran his PB? That would probably tell whether or not his car is performing better or the same as before.
Mo, do you know what his dyno number were? Did Shawn see a gain after the custom tune?
