Something special CLK DTM AMG
Completely OT but had to share this little find in my neck of the woods. CLK DTM Coupe, 1 of only 100 made and one very very special AMG Mercedes. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to travel across the moat and take her for a test drive, especially considering NZ has some sick roads and very friendly coppers ![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
I just wish there were some more photos

Out Of Control!!
Can you do me a huge favor? I just won the Nigerian Lottery for the sum of $1million. I will send you the check for the full million. Can you please purchase the car and send the rest back to me cash? You can keep $100k of it for your hard work. Thank you

acb,
Off topic....... but just wondering how the E55 compares in a straight line to all the HSV and Ford falcons down under. I am thinking of shipping mine home eventually when I head back

But if you can get your car back here than do it. They are still going for min $90K up to $120-$130K for a low k 05/06 model.

LOL thats a co incidence!. I am actually from NZ but live in the UK presently. When I left NZ the commodores were at the VN series and there were no supercharged falcons at all. I will probably move back to Australia in the next 3-4 years.
Would love to take a mercedes of some sort back with me to Australia as driving a european car over there is considered a real luxury. Glad you are enjoying your car over there and giving the commos and falcons a good run!
Just wondering how much it is for a A service there at a merc dealer? Are there any good independents you can go too?
As for the complaining about the cars having taxi like interiors you should go to Germany and the taxi rank is full of E classes, though I havent seen an E55 taxi yet!

he DTM regulations again prescribe that all cars be fitted with four-litre V8 engines having a cylinder bank angle of 90 degrees. During the entire season a maximum of three engines, taken from DTM web site.

You really need to do yor home work. This car isn't a "plain jane clk with a few body parts".You rarely see them over here because - they don't meet US DOT safety specs. These things are fast - probably the fastest convertible made.If you ever get the opportunity to get a ride in one you'll know.

Their power had to be tuned down as it did not bold well in the eyes of managment, when comparing it with the SLR

Mercedes calls it the CLK DTM AMG. Notice how it has head lights, air bags, and an interior? This is the DTM ROAD CAR. Not the DTM RACE CAR which would not meet noise or emissions regulations, hell, it wouldn't be legal in anyway.

OMG you are so right. This is just blatent false advertising. Like I just bought this Renault F1 car over the ebays and it wasnt an F1 car at all.... but some crappy yellow hatchback.
