I hate speeding tickets
speeding tickets suck, I got my first one after 4 years of driving, but within 3 weeks of owning the beast
I have got a K40 installed, but the damn cop was behind the hill and as I passed him, I was going 81MPH (according to him, I thought I was slower) on a 55 mph (which I thought was 65 as there hadn't been any signs yet)
I did slam on my brakes after my K40 screamed at me while passing the car. He also pulled over 4 bikers.
I got R/D speeding which is really bad for insurance so I am going to go fight it when the court day comes. Do you think I can convince them to knock the R/D part since it's my first time being pulled over and all?
What's the highest ticket you have gotten with your beast?

How in the heck they could enforce that if you were an out of state resident I have no idea.
Anyway, public out cry lead to them repealing that stupid fines and BS for 09.
PS: Learned that from a gogle search

a quarter mile at a time
They changed their law AGAIN, in 09 to go back to the previous rules. In 08 R/D was MANDATORY jail time, $1500+ in fines, and they SOLD your car

Yeah, I don't think I am going to get a huge fine since the officer said you can prepay the fine and not come to court and I checked other cases online and none of them had those huge fines. I am more worried about the negative points and the record. They say it might keep me from getting a job sometimes !!!!!
I agree though, the high price fines were stupid from the first place. I didn't know they are going to stop them though, interesting or I mean GOOD NEWS!!!

The K40 is way hidden in the car and the MB dealer when purchasing the car (not from them) told me he put it somewhere undetectable and you can turn it off right when you get pulled over, which I did so he didn't know. The K40 console is in the center console, SMART!

Unless it is a DUI, or going to work with a CDL, there is NO moving violation that will effect future employment. I state this coming form a goverment position and a NRC position. Both of which run a very indepth history report on the person in question prior to hiring
Whomever told you that is, well

You are out of your mind to go 20 over a limit in Virginia, especially in our beloved Fairfax County!! I got R/D speeding in Mclean, 67 in 35 in residential zone, don't ask me why did I do that. If you want a good lawyer in Fairfax county, pm me. He got me off numerous times. Where did a cop get you?
don't prepay reckless driving ticket online! you will have it on your record for (11!!!), yes, eleven years!

Wow
The good thing is it wasn't in Fairfax county, I would never go that much faster and in this case I thought the speed limit was 65, that's why I was going 77 or as the cop said 81. It was in Rappahannock County. I was going to Shenandoah for Skyline Drive. I heard they are not so bad outside of Fairfax County, but then again, it's still VA

everything that is over 20 miles or 80mph is R/D in commonwealth of Virginia. So it doesn't really matter where cop got you. The best way scenario for you will be to get a lawyer and lawyer will help you out to get rid off R/D and it will be only speeding.

Yes, those bubble gum machines have been active trying to make up lost revenue for the cities!! Alphabet boys all over the place!!
Had to pay 250 for a lawyer to get wife clean on a bogus ticket in the benz. Then I had to take D driving a month
ago for another bogus ticket .. Also cost about 250.00.. I thought the lawyer was a good deal but 250 and still take d driving sucked!

"Hey fellow officer sitting next to me in Rappahannock County, did you pull over an E55 along with 4 bikers?" says the other officer "yah, what about it?" "Well you know how I like MBs and I was looking at this forum and this guy you pulled over the other day had an illegal radar detector in his car. You should call the barracks where he lives and have them check him out". "Hey great, I'll do that".
Loose lips dude. Shut up!

By the way, looking this up on google maps, I know 211 going over the montains. This is an incredible drive. I used to do this once a month when I was going to college at VT. Then it was an MGB. I would LOVE to driver the E there.

I did some research and came up with:
" It is a criminal offense- a class one misdemeanor- the most serious class of misdemeanor in Virginia! Once convicted, there is no provision under Virginia law for expungement of this charge and you will have a permanent criminal record"
That being the key word, YES you could loose your job and or security clearance. According to the previous article I read, which is why I posted what I did, this class one misdemeanor was dropped. Appearently, they were wrong. Mental note: NEVER drive above 80 mph in Virginia. Strike that, NEVER DRIVE THROUGH VIRGINIA.
What a STUPID law, IMHO
By the way, that attorney site I visted stated that even if you are in a 65 posted zone, and you are at 81 or higher, YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH RECKLESS. Reason, MORE money for them, even though you are only 16 above. They also posted typical jail times, which were higher for reckless than, drug position, first time DUI, Grand theft auto. Yeah that makes sense.
What a lovely state
