NEED: Access to Auto Auction in So Cal
Gents:
Wife and I expecting our 3rd son. My other 2 boys are 7 and 4. We do need solid 3rd row seat.
Luckily I get to keep the E just a bit longer, but we do need a bigger car.
We have enough to pick an SUV for around $50k Cash
I have looked into the X5 4.8, Q7 4.2, GL450/550, 08 Toyota Sequoia Limited or Platinum, New Acura MDX -2010, Ford Flex Ecoboost-2010, or new 4runner 2010.
But I'm dead set on a 08 Toyota Land Cruiser. All the SUV listed above are good cars but I'm going away from German cars and the only American model would be the Ford Flex with 3.5V6 TT with Direct Injection.
The Ford is a great car.. but its 43k MSRP + taxes.. No way!
Back to my topic. I need access to a local auction or out of state auction to pick up a 08 Land Cruiser for around mid 40's.
Currently Car Max, Autotrader or Cars.com have them from 50 to 59k and some dealers asking over 60k. I have seen a few at 49k, but had the wrong interior color.. Tan.
Any here have a dealer lic or can help. I don't mind paying a finders fee if the price is right on the truck.

I would go with the Ford. Wasn't there a lot of controversy lately regarding the Land Cruiser and recalls and Toyota fudging the evidence?
Plus you can probably talk down the price on the Flex.

I can get you a deal on the ford if you want to buy out of state. My vote would be GL320 BLUETEC
Awesome SUV got to drive one for a weekend up to the mountains and got 26mpg the whole way with 4 guys and tons of golf gear up and down the mountains.

thanks Guys..
I got time on my side... I think we want to pull the trigger in the next 2 months or so.
So I'm looking everyday and reading up on my options.
I want to let the 2010 hit the show rooms and allowing the 08's to drop in price just a bit more.

The GL 320 TD is a great truck.. but i will have a mod fever with that SUV and I have enough with the E and my C.
Believe it or not, I want the Toyota since I know I can't really go too crazy with mods.
I'll send you an email to follow up with you.
thanks,
-Joe

I would only go for the 2010 MDX.. 6sp auto and better exterior IMO. But its a bit too small for 2 boys and 1 baby. Its still an option that we might take.
The GX470 is outdated and the new one will be here by the end of year. It will be called GX460 with a 6sp auto.
probably out of my 50k range.
I appreciate all the feed back.

You must not have seen the TRD supercharger kit.. Well priced and makes power.. If you have mod fever , a Toyota won`t be the cure..
