Just bought an E55!!!

just made the purchase

2006 29k miles, $37800 from a dealer, probably could have found a better deal, but i fell in love on the drive

One question I have is does the factory warranty transfer automatically? I was also looking into extended warranties through Chrysler, but dont know how bankruptcy effected them. Any info would be appreciated (didnt search yet!)

p.s. I need some help making a decision on wheels, these have to go! Was thinking Monarch Euro 63RS or SL65 wheels...if anyone has any for sale or knows the prices let me know

Congrats.

I dont know if the rims in the pics are replicas or not, but STAY AWAY FROM REPLICAS. You won't be saving money in the long run. If that's all you can afford (not bashing you at all, just want to make that clear) stay on the stocks.

Congrats again. Lol

Thanks guys...looks like I'm going with Monarchs, save some cash and do some mods, I don't even want to be seen with the wheels on it now

Those wheels make it look like a half *** scrapper car haha which should never be attempted in a Benz especially an AMG!

James at ACG in San Diego has Monarchs for 1250 shipped I believe. It's where I got my 19in euro 63s from if the others you mentioned don't go through.

4 wheeled car.
Having had the monarchs in 20's and now 19" Forgestar, I can definitely tell you that the Monarch will slow your car down considerably. It's day and night w/ the Forgestars (or any lighter 19's for that matter).

You shouldn't have an issue with the warranty. If you're unsure just call your local MB dealer and have him/her Service Advisor input your info. You'll show up on CARFAX in about 30 days as the new owner as well.

Concerning the extended warranty, Chrysler's warranty is still the best for the money. You shouldn't be to concerned about Chrysler remaining in business due to Fiat and just announced that they would start leasing vehicles again.

If you're still concerned, purchase a MB direct extended warranty just before the manufactures warranty runs out. They are expensive, but just like everything else, they are negotiable.

Congratulations on the new ride and enjoy the heck out of it!

I have E63 replicas on my E55 and they look great and have held up great. Not to mention I live in the land of the worst streets in the world NY. I have a few buddies who have REPS also.

All of them
the factory warrenty is four years 50k, the four years starts from date of purchase wich the dealer calls delivery date, find out that date from the VMI (the dealer will tell you just by your vin, call them up) as long as your in that time period, they ask no questions, if you are at a good dealer that is scared of their C.S.I, take them for everything they got and ALWAYS ask for Goodwill Assistance, I cant say what dealer im at, but if it comes up they never deny it from people, There CSI score is 20% of their pay in most cases and it also allows them to get more cars, and take more discounts where Mercedes re-emburses them for a loss. ALWAYS ASK FOR GOODWILL, even if the car is out of warrenty they can still give you warrenty assistance

e55 wheels

I just read a post on the board that MB Canada is having a sale on factory wheels. I think the stock 18" wheels are $200-250 each, instead of $600-700 each. They would be great to have in the event that you ever sell. The factory e55 wheels really do look pretty sweet at least until you decide what to get.

EasyCare is great aftermarket warranty. Got it from dealer and didn't even buy the car there. 3yr bumper to bumper extension on 31k 2004 for $1800. Have had several warranty repairs that went flawlessly. Unfortunately has paid for itself twice over to date.

Buy the Replicas from Monarch. They look fantastic, but only in 20". Yes, they will slow you down a tiny bit, but the $$$ you save will pay for a pulley & tune!!
