Point of interest though - the Viper here in the UK that ran the FightingTorque 1 mile event ran 199.? mph ... so it would have whipped them ...

 

It's always nice to dream...daam that SPI 997!!

 

I think the GTR engine is capable of making even more power. The problem is the tranny. the P800 will destroy your tranny in less than a year at a cost of atleast 20K to repair. The performance is overwheling and when someone finally fixes the tranny limits the GTR will reach it's true potential. It will cost about 40K - 45K to do that since the P800 kit is costing 20K without installation (have to buy the radiator for the kit which is sold separately?). The porsche is just as expensive, but you don't hear much about tranny failures.

The russians have it too good over there. Race like that on the freeways in Socal and you may end up with a broken jaw from the law throwing the book at ya.

hard to catch those guys, they are running at night and even if something really goes bad, they can always pay couple Benny Franklin's to solve any problem. Custom duty is a b!itch thou to bring those cars to Russia.

I wonder how the new PDK tranny in the 997TT will hold up to big SPI power?

 

THat is a really good question. I've seen 997's with some mind boggling power, but not with the ppk tranny.

With the GTR I truly think that engine is capable of 900WHP or possibly more. I've seen R34's with 1100WHP and rode in an R32 with 720WHP and after that experience I was speechless. I never been in a car that blurred my vision til then. The problem is the tranny don't last long after that. I am waiting to see what the market produces for the GTR. At this point just about everything is way.......over priced probably due to the car being new and R&D cost. I still believe the GTR is way over priced despite the performance just like the 300ZX and supra were before they stop making the cars. For what the car cost there are too many other options out there like an older GT2 which we all know is capable of insane power and performance.

I know Nissan put everything they had into the car and I think they have prove their point that they are a very capable car manufacturer. Three years from now the car will still be a Nissan and the value will drop to realistic levels. By then most of the road blocks will be broken, mods will be cheaper, and the GTR will be Godzilla after a powerup beating the SH*T out of everything in it's path.

 

you gotta love that the fastest car on the list also on the low end of the price range for those cars.
