more musing about why I love my E55...
Have you noticed how incredibly well insulated the car is? Not from the road, though it does a fine job there also. But I'm blown away at the lack of engine noise. Inside the car with the windows up I can't tell my E from a luxury car. Very little, if any, exhaust noise gets inside the car.
But OUTSIDE the car, friends tell me they know I'm coming from a block away. And sure enough, in a tunnel with the windows down, the exhaust note is LOUD, imposing and SUPER deep. Best of both worlds: if I want the muscle car experience, I drop the windows/sunroof. If I want a silent missile, I close 'em. Great engineering. Makes me want to put electronic cutouts in the car so that I could have the full Jeckyl/Hyde experience.
I'm sure the V12TT's are even better at this... Some day...
