From the picture, it looks like they have done away with the automatic touch lock on the passenger doors. Must have been an easy way to save a few bucks. As I shut the driver's door and walk towards the back of the car I use the passenger door lock frequently. Oh well, wasn't pulling the trigger on one of these anyway.

Your info about the E63 Estate Wagon not being imported to the US tracks with what I've been hearing/reading the last few months and what the M-B PR line was when I was at the Frankfurt Auto Show the 19th of Sept. My wife's parents were wanting a European Delivery (good excuse to spend next summer visiting us) of a US-spec E63 wagon so I'm maintaining an interest.
The initial decision not to import the 2010 AMG wagon (nor an E550 wagon) to the US greatly disappointed my in-laws. The cargo area belongs to their dog and they aren't particularly interested in an SUV. Guess they'll have to hope the R-Class AMG is resurrected although I can't imagine that happening given its dismal sales numbers in the US. Plus, there's no European Delivery Program for the classes assembled in the USA anyway.

Folks on the GLK forum (also a new body style) routinely report getting 5 - 7½% discounts off the total price so I would expect E63 AMG buyers would see something similar. Given that, I think it's unlikely most buyers are going to put on enough options to break the $100k barrier mugatu22 spoke of.
For example, $16k of options at list about maxes it out.
($86k + $16k) * .925 = $94.3k
My dealer does even better for top-tier customers (2010 E550 for comparison since the new E63 isn't posted yet). Plus an additional 2½% discount for repeat customers.
