Off topic - warranties
I've read a bunch about the Chrysler and other aftermarket warranties for our E55's, but I have an off-topic request about an aftermarket warranty for my wife's Volvo. She's got an '06 XC90 V8 AWD that we purchased new and we're nearing the end of the original factory warranty. The stealership contacted me yesterday for an extension...for $7700 (4yr/100k mi). I almost fell out of my chair.
Does anyone here own a Volvo (hold your jokes, please). Can anyone recommend a provider for an aftermarket warranty for a Volvo (please, keep holding those jokes). I know EZ Care covers multiple makes/models, but is that the best choice for a Volvo (seriously, no jokes).
Thanks!
DH

why so much hate for Volvos(no jokes stuff)? I am driving Volvo as my DD and it runs like a champ even after 200k miles on it and it still runs low 13's in 1/4 times. I am building a 450hp engine for a volvo too. I would stay without a warranty, V8 is one of the best engines and parts are not that expensive.

The Volvo is a nice car, but after the inter-family spats on this board between the E55 and E63 camps, I had no idea what to expect.
Thanks for the feedback.

7700 is stupid high ... There has to be another provider/carrier that is less. Im sure the markup from the dealer is 100% minimum.
Call a different Volvo dealer or walk in and see what they will do for you face to face. Your quotes will go down if they see you in person.

.....have you tried Chrysler? It's run by the finance arm not the auto part, you know bc insurance is basically gambling for companies... But they do all makes, at least there's a pull down menu for all of them on the www.chryslerfactoryplans.com website where I got mine. Oh and the XC90 is a sweet ride. Glad to see another E55 from Houston.
Does 7700 include all oil changes and service for the life of the vehicle? haha if so...

I would also check Swedespeed.com to get more info about Volvo cars and ask questions about warranty, I am sure someone on that board bought warranty.

Why the hate for Volvos? I'm also representin', V70XC Cross-Country here
Volvos are good cars, and with a lot of them being turbos are pretty easy and inexpensive to make quick. There's a bunch of guys running around on swedespeed with 400hp+ wagons and craziness like that. Talk about a real sleeper. I guess Volvos do have a certain image, but it's not bad enough to apologize in advance for. It's not like I wanna throw on a wig and skirt and drive some kids to soccer practice whenever I get it it...

Thanks for the help.
You Volvo owners know what I'm talking about. Nothing screams married father of two like driving a Volvo SUV. My garage is a paradox - one side is Martha Stewart...and the other is Jackie Stewart.
