No upgrade needed. I have been harder on my car which is heavier than the SL and have yet to have a single transmission issue. I would recommend trying to find the exact cause of failure instead of assuming an upgrade will be the soltuion. It may break the upgraded version just as easily.

What's more amazing is these supra's run on the stock 6 speed with almost double the hp, and somehow hold up to the abuse

Hey markocl65 couldn't help notice your sig about your supra. I think there is a guy named Ryan Woon who's supra ran a 8.37 here at speedworld in az?

Awww man, that was some of the best air available to. He said he was trying to borrow some dr's. Was hoping someone out there with a 6 would step up and help him out. Oh well at least he got a taste of the good stuff. He's hooked now.

Indeed, I ran an 11.55@120.26 and an 11.57@119.6. The 60's were 1.79 and 1.80, respectively. These were Conti all-seasons.
All my other runs were high 11s or 12.0s. The car was spinning the tires when full boost hit in 2nd gear. This car is achin' for some drag radials.
