Raleigh, NC Area AMGers
Fellow Raleigh, NC Area AMGers...
Where do you guys hang out? Where do you take your vehicles for mods? Anyone do a lot of the work themselves? What mechanics do you guys use (separate from Leith in Raleigh or MB of Cary)? Where do you take your car (besides a track) to open it up?
I have only seen about four or five other E55, two or three E63s, two S55s, a SL65, a few C63s, and a bunch of POSERS (saw a CLS550 with an AMG badge just a couple of days ago... I just let him be...)... But I am sure there are more around!

I take my cars to the Digital Chassis in Durham....by far the best shop in the Raleigh area.
For just car talk/hanging out, I go to Hurricane Region Porsche Club of America events. Lots of fun...especially the informal concourses....just a nice way to show your car and see other interesting cars.

Raleigh AMGs
I'm in north Raleigh, just dropped my stable down to 2 AMG's, get most of my work done at Leith Raleigh these days.
Cars & Coffee just moved from Brier Creek to Cary (at Tryon Road/Kildaire Farm Road) 1st Saturday of each month. I'd love to see some more AMG/Mercedes presence there, we are usually pretty thin.
Better still, maybe we can organize some AMG meetings on our own? I see several C63's, a few E63's/E55's, and CLS 63/55's pretty regularly in the course of my travels; whether they are on the forums is another matter.

Curt at CW Performance is a great guy! I do most of the regular maintenance myself, and whatever I can't do, I take to him. He is very honest and doesn't recommend anything you don't actually need. I have never heard of Digital Chassis until now... If I remember, and I am actually in the Raleigh area on a Saturday, I will try to get to a cars and coffee...

Tracks?
is there anywhere close by you guys go race down there? I'm in Richmond, VA, which is a couple hour drive, but I'd love to get to go out where I'm not the only AMG (well, Mercedes in general, actually, European car in general pretty much).

IMHO.. Euroclassics in Durham is the best shop. I have seen everything from GT3 to M6.
C63 to E55. The owner and his son have gone above and beyond for me. They have handled everything from ECU tune and exhaust work to a oil change. if your looking for a shop I can't recommend them enough. We should defintely plan a meet, I'm a regular at the Cars and Coffee scene, and would like to see more of my MB brothers.

Hey guys, I've been a lurker most of the time on MBworld just using it for tips on my w124 wagon, but I am an active poster on the AMG Private Lounge. If you haven't tried it, you should. Bunch of good folks over there and AMG always offering nice 'incentives' to participate.
I wasn't aware that the Cars and Coffee moved from Brier Creek... but then I haven't been there for a while.
This weekend there is a small Mercedes only show at Shelton Vineyards near Dobson, NC, which is about 2 hours west of Raleigh. I'm taking my E55 and there are a couple other AMGer from the Private Lounge that are likely to show up too. This vineyard is a great place for a car show. I was there for a British show in the spring and they had over 300 cars. The Mercedes show will be much smaller with maybe 30 - 50 cars.
Here's info and a link, you should all try to come out...

RE: Cary NC Cars & Coffee 9-1
To clarify, Cars & Coffee is now at intersection of Tryon and Kildaire Farms roads, also known as Waverly Place, in Cary.
I'll be there, but agree that MB has sadly been woefully under represented all Summer.
If we can get a few MB's out there this month I'll bring my E63, but otherwise I'll go in my Corvette.
If anyone is going, please post!

New to the Triangle
New to the area (Durham) and of course, the "Service Engine" light comes on this weekend.
This post was helpful. I will be visiting someone shortly.
When I requested the nearest MB dealer, the nav came back with MB of Cary (20 miles). Any thoughts about them and their service? What's their loaner/courtesy car policy?
Looking forward to seeing other AMG cars on the road.

the guys at EC are nice.......on 70 right glock?
I have not used them for service, but they always have some super fly cars out there....
also try CW Performance in Apex, they deal strictly with our cars and that's it.....I go there with both of mine and feel fine about it...no loaners though....
welcome to the area and good luck
also forgot to mention the dealer in Cary is still a 'dealer' and will want to be well paid......but I have gotten
3 cars from them and like my saleman at least.....
