Drag racing front tire PSI.

Now that I'm in the market of knocking off small amounts of time. I've been debating on what tire pressure I should run up front. I always race with standard pressure up front, but now I'm thinking of adding some air and heading up to around 50psi for the front tires?

I'm sure some of you have played with the air in the front tires. What do you run them at other than stock?

I run max inflation in the front or 1-2 over.hehe Less rolling resistance. Getting a good alignment for the track also helps. Get the rear tires set up for straight line instead of toed in and cambered over..

You can also can un-hook the front sway bar to help the front lift faster and help hold traction..

Skinnies are the best but at some point it is not a street car anymore..lol

Mo, we are talking about a few hundreths AT BEST my friend

It will NOT be a large gain rest assured.

You can however increase this by a few hundreths more be changing your front end alignement:

1. NO toe in, NO negative camber, and as much caster as you can get, aka high speed stability. ALL of these facts are for the front end

The back tires I got dialed in, For MT's ET streets 26-28psi works well for me. I had to call Chriomikey because i always forget what I run then at. When I was running the Hoosiers it was like 15-18psi.

Front tires i just run standard PSI, Iwas just toying with the idea if upping the fronts. Famoso is just around the corner. Got to do my testing now.

Please let us know the results if you end up going. Im curious as to what the difference, if any, will be with high pressure in the front. I usually run stock pressures all around...

+1...... in drag racing, everything helps is a good thing. That's how we know we are addicted

Max, are you going to join us this time at Famoso? You need to get your car 1 mph faster so that you can match Hammer Down's fastest stock E55 record

Whats up Mo. I had a blast at the last event. Would like to bring out a different kind of car this time. November is a really busy month for me. I'll see what I can do.

Hammer down is charging pretty hard. I just may hold off on mods even longer if this continues. I feel the HEAT!

Hey Max, I'm getting the mod bug myself but at the same time atleast for the last few days I've been thinking about selling my car but I can't think of a car that I would want to have other than a Black Series CLK but even with that I'm not sure if I'll be happy with the power of the BS. Hey did you run dr's when you ran 11.96 or street tires? If you did it on dr's then I will get some and try to match your et. If not i will keep trying on street tires.
