2010 E63 Daily/Winter Driver?

With a good set of snow tires does it make sense to drive an E63 year round.

Does anyone in here?

Sure...why not? I keep the E55 on the road during the winter here in MN. Got a jeep for the worst days though. The cars at the AMG winter challenge sure look like they're having fun!

I don't know about the W212 E63, but my E55 with far more torque is still driveable in the Winter with snow tires. Throw 100lb sandbag in the trunk, and you should be able to tackle any situation short of snow deep enough to cause clearance problems.

Put on a good set of snows and your balling in the snow...seriously not an issue given you have the right tools to work with.

I had no problems last year. Seattle had a record cold/snowfall, and I was driving right along. People were looking at me in awe at times, but what are you going to do? I just raised the vehicle to the highest level, and drove along.

Seattle's terrain is "hilly", and no problems at all. The tires I had were the same sizes as stock (staggered). Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2.

These cars are driven in Germany year-round. When adequately equipped, you should not have a problem.

The only worry are the other drivers, but that's different issue....

I drove my E55 all winter last year with summer tires on... Don't get a lot of snow down here in eastern NC though... Wish I had this car when I lived in western PA though! Would have had tons of fun!!! You can get traction on snow... The ice storms we get down here are much worse than the worst of snow storms up there! Can't drive well at all on ice!!!

another MN driver here. Havent done a winter yet, but am fully prepared, with proper dedicated snows (Nokian Hakka R's).

This just in, it SNOWS in Germany and only 10% of the mb's sold there are 4-sissies, I mean 4-matic.

Good winter tires are critical, but the E63 was fine through the winter months and the snow here in northern NJ/metro NY during the time I had one on lease with the Dunlop Sport M3 mounted from December through March.
