63 Performance Package Plus

So on C63 you get ...

Forged Pistons
Lighter Crank
Lighter conrods
all in a 3kg saving (~10lbs)
CF front spoiler
alcantara interior
red calipers
composite dics rotors

power from 336kw (450hp) to 358kw (480hp)
Torque remains unchanged.

So I am a bit puzzled... why go to all this effort when a stock E63 motor is 500hp+

I like the idea but dont understand the use of internals to reach a power level that is surpassed by a "stock" sister motor.

Also no clue on pricing...

Its on the amg website - its listed as the P30 option although there seems to be more to it than before.

I also wondered the same thenk and I asked an AMG sales rep at the AMG factory but didn't get a real answer. I really tried to push and prod from all angles but the guy didn't admit to anything other than this package will feel special as the engine will be more powerful than stock and also more free reving. Therefore giving a different driving experience.

Maybe they get some better economies of scale with the SLS engine parts or they don't want the C63 to outrun everything short of the SLS!

so get a tune and get those plus LT and emmmm

That's what I'm thinking. Basically add +30 hp to whatever gains we are seeing now from tune and/or tune + headers. Should be fairly close to 600hp.

MKB www.mkb-tuning.de offers 551hp only with software modification and 581hp with software + headers.

MB is trying again to fool their customers...

That MKB are promising some crazy numbers for E55k too.

Whats more crazy is that apparently that sports package helps the C63 accelerate from 0 to 200 kmh in 13.9 sec vs 15.2 stock...
