Eisenmann mufflers HELP!

I've been doing some research online and I'm really impressed with the Eisenmann mufflers for E55. I've looked everywhere and I can only find new ones for $2K+. Why? It seems crazy that Magnaflow or other American substitute mufflers are under $500 and as soon as you step across the Atlantic the prices for the exhaust systems are in the thousands. WTF? Does anyone know a less expensive substitute to the Eisenmann mufflers that will give the W211 55 a similar sound. I like the Eisenmann because it sounds clean, aggressive and sporty with out the cheap sounding "gargle" that for example a Flowmaster does. Any thoughts?

Its rediculous, my Renntechs retail for $3600! No HP gain, and its just mufflers. Alot of guys gut there stock mufflers, or run Magnaflows, Corsas, and reuse the AMG tips.

jpohl402, why are they well worth the cost? what do they do? I think flowmasters, magnaflow, and vibrant (all i buy for my performance cars) are just as good. It's all up to the installer and the install.

Meek do you have a recommendation on a muffler that will give the sound I'm looking for?

Heres a vid of an E55 with Magnaflows, theres more vids of it on Youtube. Its a members car Alexsander1099 i think his screen name is here.. Sounds almost exactly as my Renntechs for 1/4 the price.

08 E 6point3-sold- 11 caddy cts-v-sold, 2012 E63 Palladium Silver
muffler

I also have renntechs on my car and I have to say that they do not sound like Alexanders1099 magnaflows. Magnaflows need sometype of resonators in place to refine the sound

There alot of cheaper ways to make your amg sound better but after all the fab work it might be pretty close to the cost of meisterchaft or eissenmans
mufflers.

Quality Parts...

I believe they are worth the cost simply because they are designed for the car and sound fantastic. In my opinion, Magnaflow and Flowmaster belong on a Chevy - I don't care what they cost. If you buy a Mercedes, spend the money for something that was road tested on that particular vehicle. Plus, they may be a bit easier (less labor intensive) to install since they are bolt on - plug & play - so to speak, with no "custom fabrication" that I really wouldn't care for on my expensive car. Not only that, but I really believe they compliment the sounds this exotic motor makes vs. making loud like all the old muscle cars (which I don't particularly like). If I were to purchase a Lamborghini I would buy a Larini exhaust, and for a Ferrari I think the Capristo sounds great (or Kreissig on either one of these cars.) There would be no chance of me cutting corners to achieve a "loud" exhaust with American made straight pipes when they don't flow with the signature sound these Italian engines create.

Of course the install is important as well. But it truly depends on the application - would you attempt to install a Larini on a Z-06 ? Probably not...
I agree with drop997stop about the "refining part"... or custom fabrication/tweaking... People this is time consuming...
