new member with vrp short headers question

Hi guys

Im new here. i own a e55 komp and i all ready have a question.lol

Been looking at getting some Short headers.
I have been looking at the vrp short headers. They look stock only bigger
They are very cheap at $1500

I am guessing kleeman/maranos/renntech/evosport headers will make more power becoz they all have runners that meet together at the end like 4 in to 1. Some are big at the end and need modding of the front pipes to fit them up and some like the evosport are tuned lenth.

but all cost alot more then the vrp headers. Maranos are cheap but need modding of the front pipes to fit flanges to fit the headers it would need welding and stuff the price would go up .

At the end of the day what kind of power will all these header make over the vrp short headers ?
Is it worth all the trouble or will the vrp headers make the same sort of power or will the others make alot more power then the vrp headers?

Thanks guys let me know what u guys know and think?

you will not gain much over the VRP headers with other shorties... maybe 5-8whp. the VRP are supposed to make 20-25whp.... So, for the $$$ and ease of install - you cant beat the VRP ---
Long tubes will get you some more gains maybe +10whp but you will be spending more $$$$$ for the headers and fabricating -- you will lose the 1st cats -- and need to relocate the o2 sensors.

YES! I was not suprised the car picked up 3mph when I went to the track. My headers are a one off set nothing to special looking. They look similar to the EVOSPORT headers.

I've never seen an O2 bung directly on headers before. Did you do that or did they come that way? Is it just to take Air/Fuel readings for ECU tuning?

There not VRP they are just a one off a shop made for another member. I know the post was about VRP's but I posted up to give my input on the fact that shorty do make power. I bought them for a fair deal. I put some time into them to clean up the ports and fix some welding and then had them cermic coated. I listed here for 800 or 900 but no one wanted them so I put the on. I'm glad I did!! I may in the future take them off to go to long tubes?

Thats not an O2 bung its a EGT(exh gas temp) bung, you want it as close to the head 2 to 4 inches or so.
