Many thanks to Gus. He did an awesome job on the Star Lowering. Now all I gotta do is wait for this weather to lighten up, wash the ride, and post some pics.

Not a problem Robert, it was fun and a pleasure meeting you man.
Now all we got to do is roll out!
Ps: I'm still trying to find out why it didn't let me do the speed removal.

Were you trying to remove or raise i thought the trick was to raise the limit.

how to raise your speed limiter on a E55

- you have to go on "drive"
- then for you it would be "2.8" for me is "9.7" because i have an E63 or maybe bc of the year, im not sure.
- then you go into "development" should be toward the bottom of the list
- then you will have 3 options you select the middle one which it should be "view actual values"
- then scroll down to "0224" and click sub-meny arrow and change it to 300km as it should be at 250km
- click save and then yes if im not wrong and there you go, now you can go 186 mph

hope this helped

im gonna do a pic by pic step of this and the key-less go buzzer but have not found the one for the seat belt yet

Thanks, it does help. I was curious because on mine it is set at 250km but I recently had a tune that took the limiter off but when i go into star to view actual values, it is still at the same value so I guess however the tune changes it overrides the option 0224

i wouldnt know how they do that but thats all coding and stuff so

and there you go the step that i didnt remember the name of is that view actual values which it should be the middle one from the 3 options

Any luck finding someone to lower your car? I'm in Holmdel, NJ looking as well.

I may just wait for you Gus, looks like you wrote the book.

@LT1, no, but I haven't really looked. I know of a guy, through a guy, that has a STAR unit. As soon as I have my car's paperwork in order I'm going to take a day trip up to his place and see if he can hook it up.

This is about an old message but since the thread is still alive and since I found this from a link on another thread I'd like to clarify: I know where developer mode is useful, my point was not that. My point was that the person who pays money for developer mode, should not use it.

In my opinion a forum member should not pay for another forum member for this at all, I would have helped this person for free, this was my point (perhaps he has too much money, or...).

What if I was to set it to, say, 320km? would it be too much for the car to handle? like is that past the parts safety margin? ... basically whats the max i can push it up to without having to buy a new e63?
