4 wheeled car.
I had the Vred and I've been using T1-R for a year or so now. I had the Vreds in 20's and the T1-R's in 19's. I loved the Vreds. Very quiet and rounded sidewall. The T1R's sidewall isn't bad at all either. Im partial to the T1-R's though!

Here's a magazine test with some of the tires:

Thanks for the article. I was leaning towards trying the T1-R's, but may just stick with Vred's now. I run them now, and like them. Just not sure if they are as round as the T1-R's. Anyone know?

That article sucks. The best tires placed last.

T1-R a good tire, medium treadlife (If you drive hard and are lowered on 1-s and up) They get REALLY Noisy when done to 50%. I used them for years and the T1-S.
Now I uses the Falken FK's They are not noisy and have the same tread wear and better grip. When those Toyos get cold they slide bad..

The article gives results that are contrary to actual driving experience.

Dunlops look real good stretched. The dz101 is a great, cheap tire.

The PS2s didnt place last...what are you talking about? haha

Terry, there is a reason why some of the best cars in the world come with Bridgestone, Michelin, goodyear, and not Vredstein or whatever. lolz

LOL, Justin. I used to run strictly PS2's, but those are too square for my new setup. I'll take a look at the Dunlops. thx for the tip.

ive had different results, i bought my car used with 20 inch wheels and the vreds, within a month of owning the car i noticed a vibration in the back, upon checking i had a bump on the inside of the tire. so i replaced the 2 rear tires. Then just this last Sunday i had a vibration in the front. I pulled over and checked everything including tire pressure and everything was fine. I decided to drive straight home and on the way i had a blow out due to a bubble on the inside that i could not see with the wheel on the car. the tires had plenty of tread and no uneven wear due to camber.

maybe its just an issue that i had with these tires (especially with low profile) as ive seen many great reviews of the tires by others.

i got a great deal on Hankook Ventus v12 evos, its a new model tire and they seem to be doing great. i also increase the sidewall all the way around if it was a low profile tire issue.

just my 2 cents

Yes there is. Because Michelin and Continental have contracts with car companies and not Vredstein. If you think Michelen is better tire because it comes with the car you must be pretty dumb

I guess I am dumb. Along with the heads of Pagani, Koenigsegg, and Bugatti. If only we were as smart as you.

fwiw, it's not only about contracts and which tire mfg can offer a good deal on supplying tires, but which tires work best with a specific chassis. e.g., Porsche engineers and tire engineers work together to get the right specs and compounds, etc.. Porsche specifies those as Porsche N tires. Vredestein doesn't really have the R+D $$ to do that and try to become N rated. And maybe they could never get N rated either, who knows. Doesn't mean they aren't good, it's just that they haven't been fully tested and approved for the P-car chassis.

Only certain tires pass tests to get on Porsche, Ferrari, etc.. There's no way an engineer would want just any old tire on their specifically designed chassis. They test and build with certain compounds and tread design in mind. And then they cut a deal with the tire mfg. Porsche tests all the time and approves or disapproves new tires for their cars whether they come as OEM or not.
