Toyo T1-R vs. Nitto Invo vs. Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta
Would users of these tires please comment on your experiences:
- stickiness
- noise
-wet handling
- sidewall squareness vs. roundess (I'm looking for a rounded sidewall)
if the tire is wider/narrower than advertised (e.g. I had a Yokohama S-drive 195/40 which was as wide as a Hankook 215/35)
- value vs. price
- do you recommend?
Thanks

I've used Vreds in the past (but not Nitto Invos)
Vreds are great in the wet. Probably their best attribute. Sticky enough. But turn-in is not as sharp as PS2s. I think the sidewall is softer (?)
The weird thing is that the tread is asymmetrical and it looks like they are mounted backwards. I actually had someone come up to me and tell me my tires were mounted wrong.
The shoulders are rounded enough for me, but do a Google image search and see for yourself.
They aren't noisy at all, but do get a little noisier as they wear down. But wear is good, imho.
Do a search on the Corvette forums, they seem to like the Vreds.
I liked them.

Thank you. I've run PS2's in the past, then went to Vreds. For daily driving, I liked the Vreds enough at that price point to not go back to PS2's. I'm hoping there are drivers who have driven on 2 or 3 of these brands, and are able to compare.

t1-r gets my vote. tried the invos and the tread blocks fell apart. I'm still waiting to mount the new set that nitto replaced them with so I hope it was just a fluke defect.

T1-R is the one for the rounded tract, great for tucking as well. I have run 3 sets on my old W220 and my W211. I have run Nitto 555's and they are square and wide and not as sticky as the T1-R..Vreds are a great budget tire too. I do not think they make a 285/30/19 rear though which is what I run. You will love the T1-R without a doubt.

Ive run the Nitto invos and was very pleased with them. they were sticky, quiet and rode pretty well. BTW: a 255 on a 10.5 inch wheels in not a mild stretch, its a very big stretch I personally would never run that skinny of a tire on a 10.5, usually ppl run a 295 for a 10.5

I also run the Invos and have been very pleased with them.. Quiet, great wet and good dry traction.. A great street tire , good price and works for some track use with light mods..
I am running the MT/ET street II`s now and of course very sticky! Rounded and quiet..

Unless you are completely set on one of the brands mentioned, I would check out the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. They have a rounded shoulder and did extremely well in a recent comparison by C&D. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...12_evo_page_10
Also, the size you want (255/30 20) are only $156 a pop and there is a rebate available on top of that at tirerack.

I ran the ps2''s and now the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. I like the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires best.
Super quiet
handles great in the rain and dry
great on the track (roadcourse and dragstrip)
I can get 1.77 60' times with the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires.
I was lapping cars on the roadcourse with them too.
I have 11,000 miles on mine and they are now down to the wear bars. i can safely get another 2,000 miles out of them so they lasted a long time considering they had several trips to the dragstrip and roadcourse.
fantastic tires.

Everyone who has tried the Invos... How quiet are they when spinning them? Right now I'm on Continental Contisport 3 and they are super quiet, even while sliding and burning out. No squeal at all.
Looking to try something else this time but with the same quiet attribute. Square sidewall preferred.

Thanks for your feedback on the INVO's. I guess "mild" is relative
I've seen pics of it, and I'm OK with it. I understand that a 295 fits that rim, but I'm shooting for very aggressive offsets and my car sits pretty low, so I'm going to try a stretch setup this time. I've always run traditional setups until this point. I'll give it a try, and go back to a 285/25 if I don't like it

I've run Invo's and T1-R's... I liked my Invo's they where quiet and sticky however the tread life on mine lasted 4k ; ( total bummer, soft sidewalls... The T1-R's I have nothing to complain about and if the tread life is better (which they where) its worth the extra $

I ordered mine from http://www.performanceplustire.com/p...678#prodAnchor
They are in Long Beach. The noise level of the Sessantas is comparable to PS2s. Over bumps and small potholes, the Sessantas absorb the impact better than the PS2s. However, I think this is due to a softer and rounder sidewall which has a downside. PS2s look way better with my staggered setup because of the stiff sidewall which make them look as if they extend farther out from the wheel well. Aside from the tread pattern, the Sessantas don't really give you an aggressive appearance. They have better traction though when running from a dig. The traction light blinks 2-3 times less than with PS2s.
Stickiness: Very good, better than PS2s
Noise: Same as PS2s
Wet handling: Very good
Sidewall squareness vs. roundness: Noticeably rounded
Tire is wider/narrower than advertised: Appeared narrower; rears lost the "wide track" look of my old PS2s.
Value vs. price: Excellent value
Do you recommend? Highly

I've owned a set of the Vres and currently have a set of T1-R's on my current wheels right now. I liked both sets but if I had to choose, I would go with the T1-R's. They stick well and do well in the wet too! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Good luck in yer decision buddy!

I'm not looking to go with an all out "stetch and poke". Not a big fan of the rim poking out past the fender, but would love it to be as flush with the fender as possible. This is the fitment I'm after. It looks like I can't go wrong with any of the 3 tire choices. Thanks for the link to the Hankook, too!
