Audi RS8 V10 - OMG OMG OMG

I know this is not an Audi Forum but wanted to share I just had the opportunity to drive an R8 V10 (buddy brought it over) and all I gotta say is that it was insane. I always thought the E was quick but the RS8 was insanely fast. 1st,2nd,3rd blip by in an instant. Drove the auto version - car just sticks to the road in corners. The downshifts popped like an F1 car and when you shifted up from 2nd to 3rd you felt it snap especially when you had your foot into it. I felt like a kid in a candy store - i think the 0-60 in 3.9 is rated high as it felt like 100 came in 5 seconds. 520hp seemed like Audi was a bit conservative with their rating.

I know you guys don't mind me posting this - clearly its a supercar you can drive daily.

There's no such model as the RS8. Do you mean R8 5.2 FSI - the V10-engined R8?

The words "RS8" and "R8" have been interchangeable when talking about the V10-engined R8... that's what Audi has been calling it, anyway. Not an RS version of an A8 or S8, but the "S" version to the R8. They considered calling it the R8-S.

If that makes any sense.

Yeah, that v10 is an awesome motor, and the R8 is just a stunning car. Best of both worlds when combined.

Is that V 10 the same block that the Lambo LP 560 has?
If so how did it get so much faster than the Lambo?

It's not.

The R8 uses a slightly detuned version of the LP560. The Lambo is faster.

As indyjoe said it's the same block but detuned. Plenty of power but still a little annoying.

And btw, the LP560 is monumentally fast... I wouldn't recommend running one if you don't like losing
