i have nitto 305/35/18 drag radials that i just took off stock CLS wheel. my car is lowered so they rubbed a little when it would come down after 80, but witht the car raised they didnt rub. stock cls wheel was 18x9.5. i believe the e55 stock wheels is 18x9

no it will rub .. i tried that before and rubbed everytime i went around a corner . the stock e55 rims are 18x9 . if u want to go to the size u have to do 295/25/18 to fit without rubbing

i went with 285/30/18 and they look good not to tall and looks mean on car . but if u want more side wall then go with the 35's but i did like that look on my car .. r u doing it for an everyday type tire? i put the 285/30/18 toyo proxies r888 on my stock rims and didnt have any issues . but i mainly had them on my after market rims that are 9x1/2 in rear .. what type of tire r u getting . i have these now for street tires and they grab pretty good . to me the best street tire i have ever had... Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec

ur best bet then is the 275/35/18 nitto 555r for stock rims u will be good to go then .. the bfg are bad for the street if u hit wet roads .. the nitto and the toyo r888 are good on wet roads . i drove my car for 5 months on the toyo's rain and all and no problems and pulled a 1.690 60 ft time

Perfect. But what are the offsets. I found SL 18x9.5 wheels with +33 and +28
Can you post some pics too.

Nitto drag radials pale in comparison to MT or BFG. I would go with a 275-35-18 BFG drag radial. They are super sticky, well help you to accelerate faster than the MT 265-40-18 due to the lower profile sidewall, and a little wider than the 265. It will fit perfectly and hook like a ****.

One last question. I live in NC, and it gets cold. Should I stretch out my stockers until next summer, or should I go for the DRs now? I keep the car in the garage, but won't be driving it during the winter. Should I get jack stands and take them off of the car for storage? The garage is NOT climate controlled. I have been hearing that they need to be stored in 32F> to prevent cracking.

, looks like I will need some spacers then
I had 275 in the front lowered, and 295 30 in the rear lower than I do now and it did not rub no problems, they did look pinched with the short tire though and wore quickly.
This last time I had 285/35ZR18s in the rear and they last a while with very even wear.
The 295/35ZR18s were only 0.1" taller than the 285/35ZR18s at 26 inchs, and are being mounted at the shop right now.
I bought the tires at the Tire Rack yesterday and they got in this morning,

Well, initial test drive and it is ok. Hard to get the back end to stick when it is wet but currently with this ride height it is ok. on wood.
Yeah just a E500 but same wheel wells, with 55 wheels. Front plate because of a fix-it ticket.
I put the car in the air to check clearance, it is really close though on the inside front

Hows that 295?
Any problems with rubbing after putting some miles on them?
Looking at running a 295/35/18 on a 9.5 width 35mm BS rim if possible.
Anyone else had any luck with this combo?

Absolutely. Many cobra guys ran a 315-35-17 on a 17x9 inch rim until the aftermarket companies made replicas to 17x10.5
You might have a slight, slight bulge but not much at all, go for it playa!

So what's the final verdict? I know a guy here locally that can get Nitto NT05 and 555 for a good deal. Will a 285/35/18 fit?? Also which is better, the NT05 or the 555.
Mr. Hawkins, is the 275-35-18 BFG drag radial good? Can I pull up to my office in them or will I get shunned? Got source?
