+2 on the seat covers that go under the carseats. I have two kids (3 & 5) and use one under each of their seats. The leather will definitely get permanent dents & scratches if you don't use them.
Also, +2 on the "no food in dad's car" rule. The kids can eat my wife's Volvo, but they know my car is off limits...and we're all a happier family that way.
Good luck with the kiddo. And say goodbye to bi-annual trips to Cabo and hello to a 529 college savings plan. You're about to learn why our dads drank so much.

Hmmm.... My baby (1 year old now) never liked in my E.
Not in the E500 and E55. Everytime she is in the car she started to cry.
Maybe the suspension is stiffer. The only car can keep her quiet is my Odyssey with DVD playing Baby Einstein. I highly recommend Baby Einstein DVD collection.
Good Luck ! and Congra with your coming baby !

Thanks to all members for their comments and advice...The boy is here safe and sound, and mum is well too. Although he has only taken a couple of rides in the timidly driven '55, I susupect he is going to be a fan too.

Congrats on the Baby and remember to practice installing the seat before you pick up the newborn @ the hospital . I sat in the hospital parking lot like a jerk for 20 minutes trying to figure it out , Luckily a cop was around and helped me out .

Congrats to you and yours!
Dented seats happen, get over it. You want that belt so tight that the dents can be seen in your leather for years after they graduate from booster seats.
I concour with the no eating in the car. You will have no problem selling an E55 with dented leather seats, you will have a huge problem when you go to upgrade if your car smells like strained beans and rotting applesauce.
My kids also know that there is no eating in daddy's car. They also know that they have to knock the crud from there shoes before they get in.
My eight year old son wants to know if when he turns 16 will daddy's car be his...
Congrats again.

What do you know...he is already 1 year old, and says thanks for all the suggestions. He seems to really enjoy the car, especially the pano roof.
