ECU RESET
How many miles do i have to drive my e55 for it to be ready to pass inspection after resettting the ECU for a check engine ligh ?(Caused by 160 degree thermostat)(.I have driven my e55 160 miles and it still shows not ready.
Some people say 60,some say 100...what is the magic number.
I shows not ready for the 02sensor..should it be driven longer or harder?

Whatever we're tuning!
The on board emission control systems requires multiple ECU cycling which means that it takes a number of drives to actually get these systems ready for inspection especially after a CEL issue and a code reset.

It is a combination of the 2 and also the way it is driven.
The emission control systems go through data acquisition and corroborates the information to the values(parameters) set in the software to appease these systems and complete the testing.
Usually the emission control system has to see the same "out of range" data 3 times before it will set off the CEL.
