Red face Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT

Does anyone have this Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT installed on the car? I wonder if this will fit the 2008 E63. Found one from Amazon and only $959 , using their online info to see if this unit will fit, it saids it will not. Can someone help?

wow. I can't wait to see it. I wonder if they have the car installation kit for that will perfect fit this unit.

I assume this will disable the stock cd changer right ?

Hello guys!
I actually posted this thread (https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...installed.html) last week regarding the X series, but I am as intrigued about the Z series...

This is what worries me and I am quoting from my thread:
"The Pioneer unit looks impressive! My concern is the steering wheel functions and CD changer compatibility..."

I sm sure it will control your cd changer but call crutchfield SMS they will answer your questions-

good luck!!

I bought z backup camera also, sat radio, steering wheel funtion, iPod connect and msn traffic- this radio does everything!!

Did you get both Pac devices for the unit? The pioneer and CAN?

I had to use both when I did it in my C32.

I am surprised you didnt just get the panel off ebay and have them modify that, would probably be easier I would imagine.

Either way, cool unit and great functionality. Let us know what if any functionality or codes the removal of comand gives you.

Pics when completed please. Would love to see how well integrated it is with the rest of the car. This 1980s tech in the car is driving me nuts.

Thanks

That does not look like a clean fit once cut up for a 7" double din head unit.

Cut? Most double din pieces like this have the bottom "shelf" removable.

If the plastic is not a good match you could always CF wrap it and few other interior bits to match.

According to the installer, he said the stock cd changer will not work with the AVIC-Z110BT head unit.

Got couple questions.

1. How does the adapter for the steering control work? Since the AVIC-Z110BT is built in GPS NAV, will it still show the turn by turn on the dash display using the button control on the steering wheel?

2. Most of our cars equipped with LOGIC 7 Surround Sound. With our stock head unit, we can select logic 7 or other sounds. But once i install the AVIC-Z110BT, will the whole thing sound different? Am I still able to get logic 7 sound? This is my main concern.

3. When I goto crutchfield website and search for AVIC-Z110BT, it saids this unit doesn't fit the E Class?????

According to what I have been reading, the Pioneer system will drastically enhance sound quality.
Our stock system is quite weak compared to the Pioneer unit.
However, compatibility is my main concern...

Nope, the stock CD changer will not work

1- You will just get the radio functionality from the steering wheel controls, thats it. No nav data. Just make sure you bought both pac units, the one for canbus as well as the one for the pioneer.

2- Yes it will be different, but no logic 7 as thats a comand thing.

3- Your installer should be able to fit it.

So does it mean that the pioneer AVIC-Z110BT will actually sound better than the stock Logic 7 surround ?

Yes it will, and its absolutely terrible. People had signed up for the lifetime subscription and then learned MSN has a shelf life of a year or two.
