Windsheild washer pump failure?

Anyone have the windsheild washer fluid pump go bad before?...or does anyone know what fuse I might check to see if it's something simple?

Thanks for any input.

I know this may sound like to retarded question, but I must ask you, do you have washer fluid in your reservior to test the pump? If so, then check out your manual for the fuse location, and check it. If the fuse is good, then it's your pump. I recommend that you then go to a independant MB shop for maintenance or repair. Just my two cents

Fluid level is up and fine. Now that I'm home I can track down the fuse location and I've got the trusty Fluke meter sitting here to test the pump as well. Just trying to get a head start while I was at work earlier.

Now I need to convince myself to go out in the freezing garage to test everything.

Sounds like it is frozen, no pun. It is a big job to get to the reservoir.

Can't say I've ever had one go in the Benz, but once I thought mine had gone bad after not using it for two months. I took it to the shop and it turned out I wasn't pressing the spray switch hard enough.

Same here, though the car was new to me.

I didnt push all the way and got nervous that the pump wasnt working. I started checking the pump - realized its in the fender so I gave up.

Then I mistakenly hit the stalk with my knee and it pushed in and realized I was an idiot the entire time.

Unfortunatly I noticed it before it got cold but put it off and don't regularly drive the car when the weather is crap. Just happens I needed it the other day and reminded myself I never got around to investigating.

No updates...cold as heck in the garage and I probably won't drive the car for the next couple of weeks with the weather like it is.

Looks like it's time to replace the pump motor. It's a bit tough to get into it though (A221-869-01-21)
