spark plug for 55-K engines
However NGK is said to make a great product...if so which p/n? and how does this change (colder or hotter) if say the car is modded (pulley, TB, headers/exhaust etc...etc...) would you benefit from a different spark pug choice?
I recently heard about the E3 Diamond Fire spark plug which is supposed to fire in the middle of a 3 pronged ground strap instead of a conventional sparg plug...anybody tried these or have any information on how these would work for our engines...I've found mixed reviews on these from the web...on other forums.
On a forced induction S/C engine seems like there is some controversy on what plugs to run, in terms of brand, temp, gap etc...just trying to see what advice some of you guys have from your experience...especially considering 55-K with mods..thanks
i don't belive in aftermarket "high performance spark plugs" O.E is the best way to go for any make or model in my oppinion.
I used to work with the guy who did spark plug testing for a company that makes platinum plugs with multiple electrodes(you figure out the company). We used to always joke about how the marketing department had done a great job convincing the public that more electrodes = better spark/power/economy. It's all marketing, and if there is a difference you'll never be able to document it, it's so insignificant.
Buy the NGK ILFR6A's(Part # 3588 I believe). Do not buy anything off of e-bay or out of a store's catalog that claims to be the correct plug. Every document that I saw at all of the major parts retailers has the wrong plug listed. The correct plug is approximately 1 inch long, and the rest are 1/4" shorter, so they don't extend into the combustion chamber and actually sit up in the spark plug hole.
