My E63 is mad at me.

So I mentioned I bought an 06 S65 recently. My E63, which is a lease, isn't due to go back till April 1, so it has been relegated to "winter beater." It is freakin' pissed, because within 1 week of the arrival of my S, the E has gone mental. First, after driving for 1 hour in the snow (unrelated, I think), the car became very difficult to restart. Cranking and cranking and cranking, no start. After the 3rd attempt, I got it started and drove an hour back to the dealer in the aforementioned snowstorm. It was making a ticking noise. Apparently, the serpentine belt began to jump the track, but decided not to 15% of the way there. Follow me on this part. The 15 percent hanging off the pulley then sheared off, but remained connected to main portion of the belt. It then began whipping around in the engine compartment, wailing into random electrical components on its trip around the pulley system. Wait for it. after getting the new belt and reconnecting the disconnected electrical components, it appears that some of the connectors, in the process of becoming disconnected, shorted back to the main control unit, frying part of the brain that controls the electronics in the fuel injection system and something related to variable cam timing, requiring replacement of said electrical unit. Strange stuff. Be careful not to **** off your car.

I guess it could have left me stranded at the side of the road during a snowstorm... so it's not so bad after all.

From my own experience: once you start hating your car, your car will start hating you. Be careful.

Probably. Hopefully that's the last of his problems, sometimes these electrical gremlins get into everything once started.

I don't hate my car, I just needed something bigger. I'm 6'6", and the E is a three passenger car for me...

I don't know if it's the ECU, I'll let you know when I see the tech's notes.

Yep, that's a new Engine Control Unit.... Can you tell me what is the price of that unit under warranty?
