I would personally pass on this one. First off, I wouldn't want a 993tt that had a roll cage. Second it shows the car with Ruf wheels but in the ad says Fikse (which Fikses are sweet as well, but show a picture of the actual car!) Also, no reference to current mileage, the color is arena not arenas red, and $30k worth of mods including a "performance chip" ....hot diggity sign me up, and lastly, mileage dependant I think the price is too high. Great looking picture, though.
There are plenty of really good specimens out there for sale. But buy a stock version (and do whatever mods you want yourself.) Stock versions are actually worth more in the P-world. The color also has a big bearing on price (like Vesuvio or Wimbeldon)
Steve's car ("Rufus") at the top of this thread, is a true RUF specimen that's in top shape. Enthusiasts normally sell them among each other and rarely to a reseller. Or go with the top specialist resellers like Sloan and Truspeed.
993s are a bit different than other cars. It's not so much about the fastest one, but the nicest one.

That RUF up there is just beyond words. That image brings me so many nice flashbacks.
My Brother has an '87 930 Slant Nose Turbo (amongst the nicest Porsche's of all time practically) with an upgrades late model 993 interior re-do, which has been sitting in his garage for over a decade. I'm seriously considering making him an offer on that thing.

IDK its different on 993's vs 996's as far as closing / opening the door. On a 993 all you have to do is squeeze the little button behind the door handle and there is a little pop as the door opens just a little. As far as the car originally post , not sure if i would give a kidney for a RUF conversion but I would literally give a kidney for a Authentic RUF CTR2.

I'd be too paranoid to ever drive a real CTR2 with RUF VIN on the streets. Only 29 of them exist in the world. And I'd want a WB (Yellowbird) and that means only 16. If something happened then I'd be out a super rare car.... and a kidney.

I know the Yellow Bird is a vaunted and legendary car, but NOTHING that's ever been labeled a 911 has ever been as sick as a CTR2. I don't care how nice your 997 is, a 993 CTR2 is the Ace of Spades.

I guess the power isn't the biggest thing for me, I just like the pedigree of the Yellowbird (and the look of it.)
Anyway, I own just a lowly n/a 993 so I have no real business saying anything

Ya true CTR2 FTW ,the way the rear opens like a 595 on a 911 is just insane.

Guys, I need some advice!
As I mentioned, my Brother has an '87 930 Slant Nose Turbo, here are most of the fact about it that I know:
He's owned it for about 15 years, it rarely has been driven in the last 10 years, just sits there, had it repainted (quality job) over 10 years ago, with a nice late-model 993 style complete interior redo (Grey), probably over 80+K Miles, not sure about Reliability, or rust, or any of that stuff, but I'm sure it isn't in perfect condition, or perhaps even worse, wouldn't be surprised if it's in poor running condition and needs major tune-up stuff.
How much would a fair offer for something like that be? I'm not even sure if he'd sell it, but it's just rotting away sitting there probably.
It looks almost exactly this, minus the wheels:

I'm assuming it's a factory slant nose, right? M506 on the sticker? Probably is, if it's a '87. Unfortunately they aren't that desirable and don't fetch much these days. Esp with repaint and no service. My old Volvo mechanic has had one sitting in his yard for centuries, rotting away. Tell your Bro to give it to you so you can take care of it. Like saving a pet from the pound.

I had an arena red 993TT before I bought the Lambo. I screwed up,and sold the TT because the Lambo MADE me drive it more. If I could turn back time the Porsche would still be in the garage next to the Lambo. I still have a 98 993 cab which is great but it's not the TT.

That's what I want to do! Just buy it from him for peanuts, so the car can be taken care of. I know just making an offer would open up a whole can of worms though, i.e I'd have to start getting into a price haggle with him, and he'd have to decide if he's willing to part with a car that's been in his life for so long....
