I suggested in the other thread ("trade GTR for 996TT") the OP take a look at 993's. Obviously, a RUF conversion won't be cheap but I'd trade the GTR and my 997TT for this beauty! (and throw in the company car Ford Taurus for good measure LOL).

That Arena Red RUF is from Santa Cruz and the car is named Rufus.

Good god that car is just beautiful!!

I still miss my 993tt. What an amazing car...they assault all your senses, and not many cars can do that. The smells, sounds, and visuals just can not be beat.

Forget the kidney, I would give my left ... for that. I miss my Arena Red 986, spent a ton on a 2.5 to 3.4 conversion, then traded it in on my first STI a year later. To make matters worse, it was then bought by a guy in the same town as me, so I got to see it all the time... I would always say "you *******," under my breath when it drove by.

Yeah, I have to admit I love that sweet oily smell and the squeaking from the windshield, and the gurgling from the oil tank up front at the passenger side.

The nice big butt sticking out that you can see from the side mirrors. And the super solid "tink" sound that the doors make when you shut them.

Then there's that great air cooled engine sound with its high pitched clatter mixed in with a deep throaty bellow (depending on the exhaust set up you have.)

And you can feel every nuance of the road, like it's you and the road and there's nothing in between.

They're definitely unique.

All I had was a 996 C4S and I am missing it. Thats a great description..."the tink of the doors shutting", thats exactly how it sounds too,,all the way back to the early 911s.

I still strongly recall the very first time I drove a 993 turbo when I was a Porsche Tech Back home in Australia, It was a new car back then and My dream car at that time (still is I guess), I will never forget how hard it pulled in third gear, I couldnt wipe the smile off my face for days, I was Poor, 22 years old and just driven one of the fastest car in the world, God I loved that job.

I would personally pass on this one. First off, I wouldn't want a 993tt that had a roll cage. Second it shows the car with Ruf wheels but in the ad says Fikse (which Fikses are sweet as well, but show a picture of the actual car!) Also, no reference to current mileage, the color is arena not arenas red, and $30k worth of mods including a "performance chip" ....hot diggity sign me up, and lastly, mileage dependant I think the price is too high. Great looking picture, though.
