ESP Malfunction Visit Workshop
So I'm getting this code on the dash (ESP Malfunction Visit Workshop). I've tried re-sync'ing the ESP with the method I read about in other posts (disconnecting the battery for a bit, then turning the steering wheel to the left for 10 seconds then back to the right for 10 secs) with no luck. She seems to go into a limp mode where the computer holds the tranny back from putting any power to the wheels. Also when the warning is message is on pressing the ESP button does nothing. If I reset the ECU (or even just restart the car) the message goes away, but after a few seconds of WOT to see if its running normal the light comes back on and it goes back in to this limp mode.
Possible problems I found during my research include the front steering sensors. Being that this is happen shortly after my pothole torment where I bent my LF wheel and popped the tire I'm thinking that may have something to do with the sensor go bad or loosening up and not reading correctly. I haven't had time to remove the front wheels and look at these sensors, but I plan on doing that this weekend. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I received the same message and limp mode condition and when my tensioner pulley was going bad - which ultimately happens in 95% of these cars. Check to see if any squeaking noise coming from puuley - good sign its going bad.

That's weird, I just replaced the bearing on the tensioner pulley. Hmm. No squeel or anything, and I can hear the supercharger whining so I don't think I spit the belt. Thanks for your input. I'll take a look at the front side of the engine tonight.

i believe the steering angle sensor is built within the steering column. i'll get you a pic soon.
here you go...
here are some codes to look for if you're able to pull them...

Interesting,
Why does that happen to the ESP?
What effect does a bad tension have to cause an ESP malfunction?
I had an ESP malfunction problem with a bad plug connection/contact with the upper throttle body (fortunately it was not the lower which is harder to get to)

Turns out it was the supercharger belt, I knocked it off. When I replaced the bearing the pulley was still worn and wobbling quite a bit, but no more than it was before I replaced the bearing. I'm guessing it wobbles enough to toss the belt. I've got access to a lathe so I'm going to machine a steel sleeve for the bearing pocket of the pulley this weekend.

It's that for sure, my ESP malfunction also came on but my alignment was WAY OFF. If your alignment is GOOD then check the steering sensor
