Question Dynamometer for E55 AMG

Hello everyone,
an important question: to do a test on the dynamometer, I put the car in "dyno mode" or just disable ESP, M mode and 4 gear?
Thanks from Italy

You need to do be in dyno mode when you test your car on the dyno. M and 4th gear is correct.

Dyno mode, shift mode in 'M'. I believe in 4th gear you'll be going over 160mph on the dyno. I prefer to play it safe and request 3rd gear pulls. The numbers supposedly come out lower in 3rd gear but that's fine with me.

If your car is like mine, it will downshift even in M mode because of the kick down button behind the gas pedal. You can block the button but that kills 3/16" of pedal travel, so we end up just gathering data from 3500rpm - 6500rpm. Others have gotten around this problem either with a steady foot or some other technique - hopefully this won't be an issue for you.

Thanks to all, but why set the machine in DYNO mode? Not enough to turn off ESP?
Quali sono i problemi senza DYNO MODE?

Why not? It takes 30 seconds to activate dyno mode and 10 seconds to shut off. There's alot of existing posts about the benefits of having dyno mode on so check those out too.

Not enough to turn off ESP?
Car will sense wheel spin rear and no motion in front. Triggers ESP whether you have it disabled or not. Sounds weird but it's just the way they designed the 55's.

Just pop her in dyno.
