But even so..... 110 hp extra in the hands of a super experienced and extremely capable corvette driver and a whole day at the drag strip seems like it should've yielded at least 0.2 to 0.3 seconds difference I'm not trying to knock him at all, I'm just wondering why all the extra hp didn't help much

Here's my take on it. The Z06 hit a 1.59 60' time compared to the ZR1's 1.71 and 4 mph faster in the 1320. With that said the Zr1 would have creamed the Z06 with a similar 60' time, maybe not creamed. We are probably talking low 10.5's to high 10.4's.

Doesn't matter anyway because Jamie Furman has records anyway. Jamie > Ranger all day every day!

His Z06 time was on drag radials and zr1 was on stock tires. We all know that makes a big difference.

No joke those boys could drive! Really, in your honest opinion do you think it takes more skill to drive our automatics or the vette's.....

Holy crap Ahmad! Out of curiosity I checked dragtimes for the ZR1's because I didn't realize how fast they really are . It seems that MIR owns the records for the ZR1's..... You guys kill every where else stock for stock by a long shot, even on street tires . The prep must be every bit as you mentioned with some very skilled drivers. I've seen vette owners almost marry the wall on a weekly basis at Sacramento.

Haha it's alot harder to get a vette down the track than our cars.
Here is the Z06 list http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...fast-list.html

When you guys say STOCK, do you mean stock as only engine on pump gas, or can you run like 100/108 octane race fuel in there and still say you run stock?
I know a lot of the guys in the stock Nissan GT-R's run race fuel in them, but still calls them stock
Anyhow, i love the Vettes and can see myself in a Z06 in a couple of years

The only modification that I have is that I run drag radials and I mix chevron 91 with 100 race gas all the time and not just when I go to the track. The east coast has 93 as premium gas and the west coast has crappy 91 so in my book there isn't anything wrong with bringing up the octane rating to compensate for bad gas.
