I was wondering if any run with M3 with HPF package (Turbo) before in any of the stages? Any has experience with that to share it with us whether her/his Merc is modded or stock?

HPF M3 > E55 in most cases. What kind of race are we talking about. Well modded E55 has a good chance in the 1/4 but wont stand a chance in roll on races against stage 2 and higher

I have seen M3 over here in dubai, and I could recognize the sound of turbo specially when the guy shift, I did small search about this and I end up with HPF M3, I wanted to know how will our cars compared to this M3 in terms of racing from 35 mph and up not from zero.
what kind of mods will make us in good shape when facing one of these?!!!

Meh. I had a fully modded AA Supercharged M3 with just about everything on it and it was still disappointing. I don't doubt the HPF M3s are fast, i've seen them. But my modded 996TT puts my AA M3 to shame, like extreme shame. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
BMWs just suck generally when it comes to straight line speed. Leave that up to Porsche.

Depends on how you look at it. You definitely have a chane in the 1/4 if you have some good mods. You are also comparing a pretty expensive aftermarket FI setup to a stock sc setup. Put some turbos on a 55 and ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)

Check your "drives" portion of your avatar. Enough said.
Just a reminder, your M3 was slowwwww and nowhere near a HPF car![slap](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif)

Yeah no doubt. My AA SC'd M3 was only making 444whp. And that's a $12k+ setup... so disappointing.
600awhp in a 996TT is easy to get for a relatively low cost. In the M3 however, it would run you $15k+ easily... and you'd still have traction issues, and it'd still be a BMW.![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Jk M3s are nice, but to each his own.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yikes. That's impressive.

Each to their own, but I personally like the M3 better then the 996tt.
I think the e46 M3 is a classic design, and to me the 996tt is rather bland. Plus, I like how my car is super low profile, no one would ever think it was making 700+rwhp...
. But I agree the stigma set forth by most M3 drivers is really disappointing.

An M3 with a front mount intercooler behind the grille is a different kind of sexy though

I've never been in a Turbo'd M3 so I can't say how I feel about them, but I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to own one.

I just like the fact that I you can take a stock 996TT add K24 hybrids for $2k, do a tune, straight pipes, and injectors and be in the 600+whp range and not have any reliability issues at all (stock block holds 800+whp). Also, Turbos launch like none other.

I'd love to run a Stage 1 or 2 HPF M3 sometime. From a dig, of course.

Scott? Yeah, traction is tough to find on these cars. I recently got some MT Streets on 17" Fikses, but haven't been able to try them out due to our crappy weather.

I agree that the E46 M3 is a beautiful car. Hence why I bought one. I really enjoyed mine, and it had pretty much everything done to it (Brembos, HREs, SC'd, Pss9s, etc). However, in a straight line it was quick, but not torquey at all!! That's what sucked most of all. It handled very well and was very predictable. In some ways the M3 looks better than a 996TT, but I think overall, a modded 996TT with wheels, lowered, etc., looks very intimidating. Wing, scoops, rear intercooler vents in the bumper, large front air ducts in the front, etc.

I miss my M3. Beautiful car. Mine was stock, so the major disappointment was torque. Went to a C6 after that. Lots of torque ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Now I have the E55 and the 996TT. I don't think the 966 is beautiful. In fact, I don't like the looks at all, but in the middle of a snow storm, I'll go with the 996 over the C6 or M3 any day !
