AMAZING, Can not wait to see the full product. Which film did you go with? Matte Black? It looks like it has some gloss to it, unlike the total Matte Black Finish.

I actually have that site bookmarked. I just don't know what would be the appropriate sheet sizes to order... that's why i want some knowledge from this man who has decided to pull the trigger on this.

 

The vinyl is pretty expensive and I had him order it directly from 3M I got it for cost and wow. I order a full roll and its more than enough to do the entire car. I wanted extra in case someone were to hit me. My insurance said they would cover the wrap and labor. Its matte black vinyl with matte laminate to extend the life of the wrap.

Do you have the dimensions of what exactly you ordered? How much time is needed for install, well at least according to your friend?

 

Sticker City was the place I got the idea from, Don't quote me on this but I think the rate is around $3,500 per car for material and installation. My installer called them, but they didn't want to talk much about it.

 

I took off all badges for now. We have been throwing the idea around about
"flat blacking" the emblems and putting them back on. We also considered doing a different color such as red and doing the breaks and rims to match. It's just a work in progress as of now.

 

It does look glossy due to all of the lighting we are using right now, plus the more sunlight that it sees, the more it will fade into more of a flat image.

 

Considering a clean full paint job on a car cost 6K, I think at $3500 it's fair price 50% off. Although even at $3500 it's a lot of money for me personally. if I don't find a white E55 AMG, I plan on going this route with the Matte White Color, and Matte Black roof finish. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Thats right! and when you paint, you will lose vaule of the car because it has been repainted. This is said to last about 3-4 years. I will do another color, matte white, when I am tired of this...that is IF i can get my friend to do it again!

 

I ordered an entire roll of film. I'm not sure how long the roll is, i know its 48 inches wide, Had to do the hood in two pieces, looks like crap, but o well. Im not sure about time, but you could probably get an installer, that hasn't done this car before, to do it for about $1200-1500. Now if you find someone that has done an e55 before he will probably tell you to go away
