Yeah, I swung by my local dealer only to be deemed insane. Shop manager nor service advisor had a single clue what I was saying.

+1 I sent my tech a text asking if he knew anything about a new flash for my car and he said no!

I was just on the STAR TekInfo website (where you can view Star Bulletins, updates, etc.) and the only thing I saw in the lines of software updates was regarding a COMAND Head unit update CD (W211 589 16 22 00). No other software updates that I could see...

my car was just in the shop -- about a month ago -- the dealer updated my software since i did not have any aftermarket tuning to worry about -- Anyhow, I did not notice much difference after the flash -- I guess it was smoother and the traction light flashed a little more --- but this is mild and nothing like 20hp -- Dealer said it was a new update.

If you could get any further information in regards to this flash from your service rep, I believe that would redeem many members of their dignity by informing the dealers of this mysterious update.

The only thing that I know, is the last two guys... CLS55 and E55 both with the latest software update tossed down larger than expected numbers.

Thats what got us thinking it might be the update. This could very well be just two strong 55's, but for stock on a Dyno Dynamics makes me wonder when both of them are running the new update. or just the lated version. It could totally be coincidental. And just maybe worth looking into.

I'll be on the look out for a 3rd car to do this or for another 55k to maybe put down less with older updates. who knows

Hi. Just to clarify, the mechanic which did the work said he reset the ecu and tcu stuff, but also applied new updated software. I specifically asked him did he reset it or put new software and he confirmed new software; I can honestly say I went in the shop for power loss issues at MB of Chandler and thought it was a IC pump, but I found out my pump was perfect and when I left the car felt a ton faster which I can only attribute to the software flash. Everything else done to the car was mechanical such as new ball joints, coolant sensor, and tpms sensors and control module. If you guys want I can call and talk to the mechanic because he is really cool and I will find out what he did to my car in terms of software updates.

Mikey that would be so awesome if you could . I just got my car back yesterday after service B, tranny serv, coolant flush and differential flush and the car feels rlly aggresive now with the ESP light going off so often but i just assumed that was an effect of a TCU reset maybe

I think this has got to be the ecu/tcu reset.... car always feels a ton faster after these are done.

I believe when you update new software, or get a flash or some sort. All adaptations are reset during that process.

Was just at the delaeship this morning for some service and inquired about this "update", the service advisor was not aware of it and stated that any software update would have to address a specific service issue that's covered under warranty.

I called today but the guy was not there. I will have to try again on Monday and hopefully get some more information. I looked on the receipts and it does not mention anything on the flash, but I know for certain they told me new software was flashed to the car.

Agree on resetting of adaptations. Once done my car is always an animal, would kill for it to stay way. Adaptive tranny is my biggest beef with our cars.

I am assuming any kind of warranty work regardless factory or aftermarket. My car has a factory warranty though.

Prior to purchasing my car I was told all E55 engines were being slightly de-tuned (And possibly CLS's too) so that they wouldn't out perform the incoming 63's. Seemed a credible statement.

Could it be simply going back to the original flash?
