I agree, not sure where people get off taking a mod'd CTS-V with 150 more HP and using that as the base for the V's performance metrics. A stock E55 falls right in between a stock M5 and stock V and with some simple mods, why not? Makes sense to me, nice job.
And for anyone thinking it was the older V, please, the old one was a cow, ate a few when my E was stock. Badly.

I think a E55 with a tune can beat a stock CTS-V. The modded V I ran runs for money so its in his favor not to go around telling people what he has under the hood. I'm still dying to catch a stock 1 and even went into the cadillac forums looking to run 1. I dont think they are insanely faster then our cars.

 

exactly. the same thing was said about the e60 m5 when it came out...even after people began hanging with and beating them (even from a roll).

Stock for stock we are competitive with the M5, M6, CTS-V, XFR, etc... Obviously this is driver dependent and situational and it goes out the door when you start comparing a stock car to a modded one.

 

I agree, they are both mid 12s cars in stock form with almost the same mph. I don't know why every one is on the caddy ******* like that. I would think a tuned e would beat a stock caddy.

 

Lets find some stock vs stock.

just watched the car and driver video head to head CTS-V and E63 and on the 0-60 and 1/4 they were with in .1 sec of each other thats a drivers race. I was under the impression reading E55 is about the same as the E63 in the speed arena. 12.4 in the 1/4 and 0-60 4.2 -4.4 obviously traction is the big issue. just dump the Contis and you would have better traction. seem like a close race by the numbers .

This isn't performance related, and I don't know about you guys, but it's pretty ridiculous how much better and leaner the CTS-V looks next to the M5 in this vid. That darn E60....

 

i smoked a tuned cts-v from dig. till about 140km i gave him a car length.

guys, it was amazing how he wanted to cry ^__^

i didn't turn the ESP off but the engine power was kicking my car by force. @@.

I wish I can race a stock CTS-V, stock vs stock to be fair.
E55 is out for 5 years earlier than the new CTS-V so its totally different generation and we can still compete with them. The only thing I know, my car is strong, running so strong that drives me crazy !!!

I raced a CTS-V 2010 in Houston. He was HEAVILY Modded!! I was slightly modded. From Dig to about 100 I was ahead. After that it was ALL over! He flew by me!
