e55 vs. cts-v

I raced a cts-v last night. We started from 80 and went to 130. I had about 2 cars on him when we both let off. Sorry for no vid. I didnt have my camera on me and this guy just popped up out of nowhere. I didnt know my car would do that good against the cts-v especially passed 100 mph.

not sure what you've done to your car already or something wrong with that CTS-V but there is no way you can walk him like that . Check this thread out..this guy has a healthy stock E55 and lets see the result,

So you think a tuned E55 could only pull 2 car lengths on a 3.6L CTS?

I'll say this, I doubt a tuned E55 could pull 2 lengths on a V. Obviously Mr. AMG 20 was the much better driver, and a win is a win. If you own a fast car and can't drive you fail. Good job OP...

I completely agree with you, it was an older V w/o the SC or some clown that can't drive the new one. Just a ridiculous notion for someone to say it was a V6 model. It's all in good fun, no worries.

i raced a few new cts-v's and pulled on them . but they're strong cars and don't think just tuned E would beat cts-v .. our cars weight the same and they have 550hp and 556 tq stock those cars are just nasty out of box

Oh yeah, I was agreeing with you...There's no way my Ford Taurus Limited rental car last week would stay within 2 buses of my E...Nor will a CTS 3.6 DI

Haha, yeah I knew you were kidding around man. That guy must not be able to drive that monster at all. I'm thinking about heading to the Caddy dealership tomorrow to see if they have any. Would be cool to compare the driving dynamics.

From everything I've read, the dynamics are way better than my E63 even. I think you'll be surprised at how well it handles. Gotta get the Recaro seats..!!!

Motortrend listed only a 114 trap from the new cts-v.

I believe that it was a new one

Well Car & Driver also say an M5 is .1 and 2 mph higher in the quarter than an E63...I've yet to have one even pull ahead...Maybe R&T used a manual CTS, auto's are faster....

hmm, well I would venture to guess it would be a good race either way.

My LET tune only car dynod at 416 on a mustang dyno, so thats ~440 wheel on a dyno jet, so I believe its plausible.

yup.. more like 150+ on the stock E55.

575rwhp with the pulley size of caddy. (9" + i believe on the pulley size)

simple 9" is about 230mm

our biggest pulley on a E55 is about 185 here in US and 200mm with our friends over seas.

just illustrating the difference..

I don't know why everyone is doubting your pull! With the mods that you have, it is very well possible to beat the CTS-V by 2 cars. IT's not some super natural vehicle. IT's a cadillac.

Look

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkSmcViN_qs

With just a tune and I/C upgrade, it is very possible to beat the CTS-V by 2 cars. NO PROBLEM!
