Quaife LSD before and after

Going to be installing a Quaife LSD and was wondering if anyone has done some before and after timed runs to see how much time you knocked off your 60's or anywhere else ???

I'm also interested in what true gains are....in theory it should be a pretty decent gain

it's a great mod but it's worth ZERO gains at the strip.

wouldn't having power to both wheels help you at the strip? I thought someone on here said they pulled an extra .2 off their time....maybe i'm mistaken

You only "lose" power to one of the 2 rear wheels if you spin the tires, and the differential diffs out w/a standard diff.

An ideal launch at the strip involves virtually no wheelspin...so a LSD in theory won't help at all, unless you're smoking the tires during the first 60'.

My thought is if it allows the power to transfer equally to rear wheels instead of favor one side it should certainly increase performance times

I've seen Quaife help a few high hp E55s (mainly) during burnouts as some of them would spin one tire only or heat-up one tire more than the other or unevenly grip during a launch. Quaife minimizes those problems sufficiently.

i understand the thought...but if you're launching your car properly already, it won't help.

The Quaife makes you more consistent at the track. You get more consistent tire heat up and don't have to be as awesome at the launch. It will matter to some, but from a purist perspective it is a non issue. Look at who is saying it doesn't help. Mr. Launch himself. In Cali, where traction sucks it helps quite a bit for us novice drivers.

Don't get discouraged bro. Yeah it's not gonna change the world on 1/4 times BUT it will save you from having to replace an axle or 2 and possibly a rear. All kinda of voodoo happening when you do those burnouts without it.

Car trying to brake the spinning tire and apply to the other side. Not many, but had a couple guys twist out an axle.

You'll like it but yeah, not gonna be earth shattering on 60foot time improvement.

Dont listen to Mikey ....he could launch an F1 car on ice!! He's the launch master.
