Depends who is pushing more PSI and the size of Turbo.
I think AMG is probably not running a max set up, just to market another higher level model.
The M given its smaller displacement, probably running a more aggresive boost mapping.. to get the torque and hp.
Either way.. non of these cars will stay stock... and if I had a choice to visit my friendly dealer.. I think there is no dispute that MB dealers for the most part are not "****" about piggy back systems or denying warranty claims.
Gearing will probably help the M stay ahead. But the AMG will not be far behind.

The M5 will use the same engine as the X5 and X6 M, which is actually hitting about 21.8psi, not 21psi as I wrote earlier. The M5's engine should be right around that mark.

why can't they change the engine bay a tad to get a better flowing exhaust manifold......I am pretty excited that there is something new on the horizon.

I love how we've been asking for a TT for about 5 years now and AMG just caught on. Not that they haven't made anything groundbreaking in the recent years or anything but damn...hows that for timing?

as one of my friends installed an SL63 gear, which is the MCT on his 55. it accelerates like a monster but the shifting is a bit stiff.
he also doesn't know how the tech managed to install it @@. but the downfall of it. is he can not use upper or lower shifts.
so it is always on D only, C/S and cant use te +/- feature.

Interesting turbo/exhaust manifold ... twin intercoolers are nice but dont look too big...so going large on boost may yield same problems as before.
This car will be quicker than old E55 with pulley and tune no question ... purely on how it will get power to the ground.... The S/C neck snappers struggle too much with traction.... a fully modded one will be a good comparison though on a roll...

with this much power stock,you would only need a few bolt on's like a custom mid section with mid cat delete.
there is prolly about 20-25 hp there,add the sport pack tune that up's the boost and you have a car making 550whp
