He's got his age on his side. Patients that have a better outcome after treatment usually tend to be the ones that can tolerate the rigors of treatment and more importantly, all the treatment. Tell him to be strong and persist even on the toughest days, and he will be rewarded. Besides, he will need the family more than ever, and always make him think there's something to live for. My thoughts and prayers will be with him and your family.
