as always, please send me a pm if you wish to continue your grudge with me so the board doesn't have to put up with it.
Your a funny little guy....me not liking you has ZERO to do with Andy but moreso with the fact that you are a huge tool, Andy was like what, over a YEAR ago ?? LOL !!
Oh, and in REAL LIFE, there are lots of turns. You wanna put your money where your mouth is little boy massager ? I'll run you in the quarter mile and you can run me on the big track at willow...we can take the average of both races and we will see who comes out on top. I may be a second or so off your 1/4 mile pass...but you will be at least 5 seconds off ANY road course we run. Put up or shut up girlie man.

And as far as what the board has to "put up with"....I already made my contribution to this thread giving the OP my firsthand impressions of both radar detectors...you've simply been a sarcastic dick.

Sigh. Why does it always come down to this? Boys and their toys.

Back OT: to the OP, there's a lot of good info on the web, not just MBWorld. Check out this site: http://guysoflidar.com/index.html

awe, did tough guy luke get his feelings hurt and now has to throw down a challenge to feel like somewhat of a man again?

why don't you just come to az and kick my *** already. it won't do much for your insecurity issues but it might make you feel better, maybe enough to quit checking in on me every few months. keep in mind, i'm a runner not a fighter but i'll let you get it out of your system so you can go back and brag to all of your pay-as-you-go girlfriends how you beat me up. a short 45min plane ride here should be nothing for such a baller like yourself.

Anyone here use the 9500ci? I have been interested in this unit for a while now. However, I do like that module from Mid City Engineering for the V1!!!

I simply responded with what I fel was an appropriate and FAIR counter offer. I feel no need whatsoever to "kick your ***". But, again, you cleaim the following:

If you are such a "runner", then run your car and not your figgin pie hole. I'm happy to bring my car to AZ to run that POS tired azz old jalopy of yours at the drag strip of your choice. Then, you can bring it to Willow for a raod race against my "little 63". We can average the times of the drag strip and Willow for pinks plus the loser never posts here again.
I have no problem laying it on the line and this is the second time in this thread you've backpeddled after being called out. So what's it gonna be tough guy ?? Care to put your money where you mouth is ??

as i simply mentioned as fact, my tired old jalopy will still put an asswhooping on your car in ANY straight line competition you can imagine...just a fact that you know to be true and NOT a challenge. if you need to believe i'm backpedaling because i didn't respond to your childish challenge to run my 4500lb airmatic sedan at willow that's not a surprise and fine with me. i've never pretended my 4 door daily driver is a sports car so i could care less how it handles corners, but you're more than welcome to come out to az to see my tail lights on the drag strip. again, since you seem to have no capacity for reading comprehension, that's not a challenge, just letting you know your welcome to run at firebird with me.

have a great day buddy!

You guys need to relax. If you wanna argue, do it over PM/phone/in person.

I've used quite a few RDs and I keep coming back to V1. I can't live w/out the arrows

My reading comprehension is juuuuust fine, thank you very much. So, you admit the only thing your car is good for is straight line speed. Funny thing is, my car (STOCK) would be a couple car lengths behind yours in the 1/4 yet you would be laps behind me on a road course if you didn't have a failure first. Enjoy your jalopy and I'll enjoy mine knowing who has the better all round vehicle.

yes, i readily admit that. in fact, i have NEVER touted anything but that. the e55 is a pig but it's very good in a straight line and extremely comfy during my commute. if i wanted a clk63 bs, i'd buy one...but when i want to take turns i prefer to do it on a bike, so i'm not missing out on that fun either. regardless, i do enjoy my jalopy...always have and probably will for another 100k miles (or until i find something that can fulfill my daily driver routine better). so you just keep on believing whatever you need to in order to prevent your insecurities from rearing up as often as they do. many of us would really appreciate that!

2 W210 E55, CLK 63, S65, Infinity Qx56, Taurus SHO - all heavy moded, Porsche Cayenne Turbo stock
I have 950o CI in my E55 and Infinity Qx56 and it is an amazing unit. Laser Jamers work really well, GPS is to die for, advance mode caries soo much mor usability then V1 arrows, etc - but they are pricy

Have K40s in Cayenne Turbo and in my other E55 - POS in comparcing - saving $$ to put them in S65 and CLK 63 for my wife.

I've owned almost all of them, and always go back to the Valentine 1 because of the arrows.

Maybe it's just in my head but I like knowing where the signal is coming from. The arrows have saved me several times w/cops creeping up behind on the freeway or lurking over a hill. I also like its concealed display that you can install anywhere in the car (I have mine on the steering column).

I have the 9500ci in my Range Rover and love it. The range is fantastic, and the GPS feature is great. Instead of it blaring every 300 ft on my every day commute, it goes off when there is a real threat. Best detector on the market if you ask me, and far superior to the SRX that was in my E55 and the junk K40 Calibre that was in my Jeep. If you live somewhere that uses red light cameras, you can load updates through your laptop every two to three weeks with red light camera locations. And it is a laser jammer.

I also own a V1 that I keep in my wife's truck for long trips. Besides the inconvenience of having to hook it up and the advertisement that you are speeding to any cop who pulls up behind you and looks through the car, it is just too busy. Lots of noise and flashing lights. No doubt it will pick up a speedtrap with plenty of distance, but it picks up just about every other wave known to man. The arrows are cool to look at for a bit, but I think that they don't make this detector a must have. If I get a KA alert, I am on the brakes. Period. I don't take the time to register where the signal is coming from. And getting a laser alert just means you were hit. Need a separate jammer.

The 9500 ci is not cheap. $2,000 installed in my garage.

How difficult is the install? I plan on installing one in my 06 E55... I don't trust any of the car audio shops around here... How effective is the laser jammer? Do they update the firmware regularly? I am debating about the 9500ci vs a V1 and the Laser Intercepter...

It took an installer about 2 hrs to install in my garage. I wouldn't do it myself. Laser is not used much around here, but these units are at least as good as those on the SRX, and that worked for me at least three times on my E55.

The V1 is not going to be a better radar detector than the 9500. Even if it has incrementally better range by being positioned higher than the antenna on the 9500 ci, you will have more than enough range in the ci. Guys stick their V1's under the headliner, which I never understood. It is now hidden, and it is trying to find radar through aluminum. Good luck.

Because I have the V1 in my wife's car, I can compare the radar detectors in given cars. I know exactly where each detector gives me alerts for the known radars in my area, and the V1 and my escorts were neck and neck.

And when you do get pulled over, which will happen no matter what radar detector you have, all you need to do is push the off button and the police will never know that you have a detector. Can't do that with a V1.

And you don't need to keep mounting it and removing it everytime you get in the car.

When you register your 9500ci, you get 3 years of free updates. Just be sure to keep the "key card" that comes with the manual because you need to type it into the website to download the updates.
