Good God. What was his hurry to get out of the parking lot? I have had good luck with State Farm in Denver so you might be alright. Tough break man. Extra tough. Good job not coming out of the car and poking him in the nose.

Buddy of mine's wife got her CRV nailed by a drunk driver a few nights ago while parked along the street. Still not sure why the CRV was parked on the street, but it put the entire car up into the front yard. The speed limit is 25, but I doubt the car was going 25. To top things off, the driver didn't have insurance and got out of the car running barefoot.

It could be worse, right?

Here's the car that did the damage.

Sorry to see that man, as the eternal optimist I would say better that you were on 4 wheels and not 2

The air compressor for the suspension and seats is located in the front left. Hoepfully you get a decent loaner for the time being.

U should lay off the crack....$2-$5K? Seriously?

That damage would be $2-$5k on a Civic.

I can honestly say that state farm sucks. About 2 years ago my condo was broken into and it took the 3 months to cut me a check for the lost/damaged property. I'd rather see the dentist or the gyno with my girlfriend then talk with sf. I'm with American family now. I guess it's finding the lesser of all evils when it comes to insurance.

Let me know if you need anything man.

And +1 on the 63 front end btw

A simple front bumper replacement is $3,500. His damage is likely to cost 3X that. That headlight alone is $1640, the hood is a grand, plus all of the suspenstion, air compressors, and plastic bits.

That's not too bad, 5280 Busa. The car can be fixed to the point where you would not even remember this unfortunate event. A while back, an OAK Airport truck backed right into me after the driver and I exchanged greetings before he jumped in the truck. I was speechless too.

Anyway, it looks like they will have to replace the driver side headlights; make sure they replace the passenger side too (legally necessary), otherwise one will look better than the other and that's not the same as restoring your car to the condition it was in prior to the accident. You get to keep the old one as spare. Maybe 8-13K?

Hang in there and don't get too depressed over this...

You must be smoking the same crack that daminchi is. I don't work for a body shop, I just know what it takes to fix these cars and not do a half-*** job in doing so. Reconditioning body panels and using thin gauge aftermarket body panels is out of the question in my book. My estimate was conservative but I doubt you'll fix it for under $10K.

uhhhh this pisses me off looking at that! Not only does it suck because of the obvious, but #2 all the trouble and headache it causes, #3 the depreciation of the car now because its now flagged on car fax and #4 he needed a translator

Best of luck with this, I've been their and know the headache man.
