what is this piece called??

Im talking about the chrome trim on the impact strips. mine is peelin off and instead of buying a whole new piece i want just the chrome trim if is only possible to buy that.

where can i find this piece???? or if anyone has upgraded to euro impact strips and have the stock original strip hanging around let me know preferably tectite grey please

You will have to buy new impact strips. The chrome isn't sold separately. Be careful about the Euro impact strips, because many are not MB parts and so do not come painted or with the chrome.

can you take a close up picture of how it's peeling off. i'm getting ready to de-chrome and want to know if it would be better to peel the chrome before i paint.

yea i def can. once its peeled, it is very simple to peel the rest off. if i were you i would def peel it off first, sand it, and then paint it.

hell, if it's color matched underneath...it may save me the trouble of painting!

It is not color matched. The underside is plastic, BUT has a number of defects (air pockets), so once you de-chrome, be prepared to prep just a bit. I went ahead and snapped the holders for the chrome pieces off and began at one edge. As previously mentioned, once the peeling starts, it is easy to get under it and pull. It took a few days of manual playing but ended up looking much nicer than a professional tape and spray job.
