I guess we all have our opinions of interiors, lol.

I drove a 528i around for a while, and although the fit and finish was good, the materials in the E60's interior didn't hold a candle to the E IMO, especially in the little details. It is sportier, so I can see how some prefer that. I prefer the elegant and quality inside of the E.

Get a RS4, and I guarantee you everyone will support that one. Thats a real driving machine.
+1 on the RS4......It is badass with an exhaust and a tune!

I like the deeper sounding exhaust systems I've heard on the M5. IMO those race exhaust systems would get annoying to hear after a while

Definitely agree with you here. I miss the sportier interior of the BMW's. There's no question that the W211 interiors are very luxurious.

Test drove the M5 again today and the high revving engine is just fantastic! But again it was just lacking in the torque department

Here's one guy who really likes the SMG and drives a carbon/carbon clutched 6-speed Supra as well, so sorry but your experience is entirely subjective. Vic55 loves him some SMG also. Yes it's jerky, but it sings when you're driving it hard.

When first SMG hit on the M3 I was all about it. I was like WOW, this is awesome. But then the whole new exicitement wore off after driving it for a few days. Even when I had a friends M6 for a little, I found myself using the shifter and not the paddles. I struggled to find the best setting and best way to drive it smooth. Off gas, shift, on gas = Jerky. On gas, shift = Jerky. Downshifting.... okay thats nice because sometimes I under or over rev to get the perfect rev match when down shifting, espeically while coming into a corner. I also didnt like the powerband of it, everything was top end, which I know is norm for BMW. My overall experience with it was dissapointment, but trust me I went into it excited and wanting to like it. I love the active sterring and handling though.

But hey, this might be some peoples perfect car in which they are totally happy with, so variety is always good. To me I still prefer the REAL manual.

Emoving; Lucky guy, that car is a blast to drive.

It's only jerky in S6 mode....
All other complaints are sourced from the jerk in the driver seat

It's from "The Last Dragon", one of my favorite movies growing up. Have it on DVD now.

The distinguished gentleman in the .gif is "Shonuff", the Shogun of Harlem. He is, in fact, the Master.

I rocked my SMG as CH said- function over comfort for me. But the DCT is a whole new ball game with the M car and GTR and I can never go back. I actually brings some civility (if you are making an SMG vs. DCT comparo) to the shifts.

In S5 or lower (DSC on) it's a jerk whenever the traction slips and the DSC kicks in, unless it's in the wet then the car seems to just slowwwwwwly scream it out

CH - How many people in this thread have no clue about that movie. LEROY - WHO'S THE MASTER??? Take your feetsas to Daddy Green's pizza.

Not to hijack, but so many of the youngsters in the office would stare at me with a blank face if I asked them about Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon.
