More Carbon Fiber. . .

Purchased the CF air intakes from EuroCharged a couple of weeks ago. The transaction went very smoothly and I am very happy with the product. There was a delay but it was handled extremely professionally and I was keep in the loop at all points of the transaction (delays happen - how they are handled says a lot about people and Eurocharged exceeded my expectations in their handling of the the situation).

The plan now is a full-blown rip off of AMGFAN's engine treatment (with maybe a subtle difference here and there to justify me not being a total hack)

That's the next step - I'm getting the CF wrap from Godfather to do the covers first to see how I like it - the problem is if I don't like the wrap - I can justify the engine cover - 2000.00 for the air box?!?! I'd rather get headers instead. Supposedly you get 50% more air flow with them (and looking at them side by side with stock I don't doubt it) but I haven't run it yet and I do have a tune so I highly doubt I'd notice. I personally bought them just for cosmetics to start the whole engine phase of modding (looks not power). I am throwing in K&N's next week and I do hear that those do make a difference.

that looks great and I can't wait to see the results of the wrap as I will be doing the same thing depending on how yours turns out!

Nothing you can feel...

If the wrap doesn't work, then try and get the covers painted gloss black...you are right the money for the engine cover could go to some significant go fast parts. I painted the engine cover parts that weren't CF gloss black in the SL65...

E55 w/ full CF

SL65 w/ gloss black engine cover

That dam engine bay is cleaner than my plate I ate dinner off...What the heck. Everytime I see your mods and how clean they all look I keep thinking about those microwave diners in the frozen food isle...It never looks that good when you make it at home..??
Love the mods on the 55...

AMGfan: thanks for the advice. Going gloss black on the engine covers is what I'm going to do if I don't like the wrap before I wince and pick up the real CF engine cover.

I can't tell you how much I love this picture of your engine... I would LOVE to make it a poster! MB really should use it as a template for their AMGs.

thanks man - only the beginning - you see the template - it's kind of hard to improve on perfection so I'm just going to have to settle for copying it.

I know right. . .his is the sickest 55 I've ever seen. The attention to detail is ASTOUNDING. You should check out his build thread - gives a whole new appreciation for everything that went into it. Then to make matters worse - he picks up a 65 AND DOES IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!. The rear diffuser on the 65 dropped my jaw the first time I saw it and when he put the ADV's on My favorite part is when he put the box in the trunk of the 55 - he made sure there was enough room for his golf bag. Gives new meaning to word "baller".
