You have to use 6 screws, 3M tape is imposible, not easy to install IMO

Is it any tougher than installing a front lip?

For me, it was hard but it went OK. Harder than the front lip. Much harder. Some people had remove the rear bumper. I just screw them from outside. trust me, you will need 3M tape + screws. But very nice when it well done. I paid close to $400 and they are all the same thing.

I removed the rear bumper just to make things easier, plus i also had to adjust my exhaust hangers due to having the Renntech mufflers with larger tips..

Sorry if this is your picture, JL. I use whatever pictures my manufacturer provides me.
I will think twice next time using the pictures from the manufacturer.

2006 E55 AMG
when I had mine installed last year, I had drilled screws into the diffuser which attached to the stock piece. It looked sick and for extra assurance I used double side tape to mount, and flush style screws were just drilled in. took all of 10 minutes.

Perfect Fit?

It does not come with tapes. Thanks

Honestly i'am that kind of a person that never complaints but this time i think i need to let other members know that the fit is off,i mean way off.

In this pic(this is the right side,it looks like there is something really wrong with the mold that was used,or used too many times.there is a gap that needed to bi filled with silicon, because it was way too big)

Here you can see how much was needed in order to be filled(expect to pay extra money to get this fitted right, and pay for extra material)

You can clearly see the Gap here.

Right side Tips.

Left side Tips.

As you can tell there is still adjustment needed, and i had to come up with extra material and man hrs.to get it to fit.

With this diffuser you will definitely need your exhaust shop to help you either bend the hanger bracket or they may need to reposition the mufflers or both. I just upgraded to this diffuser and Meisterchaft exhaust exhaust. My body shop did a horrible job fitting the diffuser they refused to screw the thing in and used some type of industrial adhesive. Well they did not clamp it while the adhesive cured. So it ended up coming out uneven dipping slightly and there were similar gaps to what you have in your picture.

I went to the exhaust shop they decided they could do a better job with a little force we ripped the diffuser off with no damage. Two guys on each end held the diffuser down and kept it in place with pressure. They had no gaps. The third guy used a air drill with a 90 degree bend to drill pilot holes. He then went in and screwed in the self tapping screws with a ratchet by hand. I went to HD and bought screws with an 8mm head and a bit shorter than those sent to me with the diffuser. Anyway the diffuser has an almost perfect fit, having larger exhaust tips make it look even better, and the exhaust had to come down and out to make it look right.

BTW I purchased mine from JL Motoring. I also had the OEM diffuser removed. (Which I don't think it's necessary to do this with the 3 fin Diffuser.

Bela Meca I also think you need to have the diffuser raised another 1/4 to 1/8 of an inch. You should not be able to see the dip where the OEM diffuser sites.

Friend....Trust me,my guys knew exactly what they were doing, this was a bad mold for sure. There was no more adjustments possible.I did have my Exhaust tips pulled out a bit, that's fine. However you can not adjust something that has a huge GAP no matter where you move it.

Why is it set so low then? Looks like your guys thought it was supposed to fit down inside the concave part. If you look at the advertisment pics above, you don't see the taper. Not sure what type of bad mold you are dealing with but the mold is supposed to fit higher on the bumper so even if it is a bad mold, I still doubt it would fit better down low. I just don't understand why you siliconed it when mounted in the wrong place?

This is one solid piece of plastic with CF overlay. There is no way you can decide how far up or down you want it,you put it on and can maybe move it just a tad.
When we put it on,we tried to adjust....you can't,it's not flexible. It's sitting where it sits because it could not be moved!Just look at the picture with the gap.It is a god half a cm of gap that curves around the bumper, clearly a mold defect,or a mold that has been used waaay too many times. With CF there is just as many times that you can use a mold before you have to make a new one.Looks like this was the case.So once again,it sits where it sits, because it could not be moved around.

btw,the silicone needed to be used to fill the huge Gap that was there.Otherwise you could easily put a finger in between the bumper and the diffuser. It's a defect.Trust me.

If i raised it further up(which was not possible)the Gap on the right side would have made the whole thing look crooked,on the passenger side.It would tilt the whole diffuser, because the passenger side was doing this )
