E63 MODS. INTAKE..TUNE..EXHAUST...best ones proven???

I am looking to add a little more bark to my 2007 e63 and curious who is the best dealer/installer in SoCal or surrounding areas? What are most guys running and is is making much different in power? I am would like to know if there are exhaust mods that are more affordable...best intake to run and who has the best plug in and/or dyno tune. Any info would be great....

Bottom line for the most power the long tube headers are the move . + a tune u should be able to pick up 55-65 rwhp easily . Evosport has a long tube system and they are in Cali .

Or u can look for some light rim and tire combo which that along can make u pick up as much as 30 hp due to less rotating mass, Same for the rotors . But remember it wont be cheap .

MY 63 was making 408 rwhp stock and after all the mods we put down 466. No long tubes though or we would be closer to 490 for sure . It winded up costing about 200.00 per HP

You gotta be kidding? 200 per horsepower it nuts man.....I heard that is about the going rate. I am looking for just a simple retune/intake/ open up the muffler like a tuna can for sound and LET it RIP. How HARD IS THAT........does anybody here do this. I am sure the Mercedes Warranty will be toast after the reflash or are most people in the clear. Just looking for little more GRUNT. Little tooooo quiet and want some more intake and exhaust note.

Besides some Links on these mods..quick question on TUNE. Reflashes are what people do here and checked out the TTMotorSports and EVOSPORT sites. Seems to really help the car a lot and curious if this VOIDS your MB Warranty. Does MB endorse any aftermarket intake/exahust and tune components like say RennTech or Keemann. Then like one fella said 200 dollars per horsepower. Hehe!

VOID VOID VOID...It definitely voids your MB warranty, but those two tuners you mentioned have their own warranty coverage. Search tuner warranties, someone on here was very helpful and listed out every tuner/manufacturer warranties or lack of.

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
On my E63, I put straight pipes in place of Secondary Cats, X-Pipe in place of resonator, and Meisterschaft mufflers/tips....
It sounds LOUD now, though not in an annoying type of way....
I have posted many sound clip videos on here/Flickr, search my posts...
Let me know if you have trouble finding them....

With the MBH long tubes picking up around 50whp. Thats about $77 a horsepower... Our Tri-y design showed about a 8-10whp gain over a set of traditional 4 into 1 long tubes. Our dyno chart for the CLS/E63 will be available this week.

You guys rock...the info here is IMMENSE. SO many ways to make this car growl!!! One here said VIODED warranty with just mufflerwork intake or tune....a tuner picking up the warranty? Never heard of this....I know most warranties are solid unless it is proven that it caused the problem but I could be wrong.

No, not muffler work or intake. Once you break open that ECU though, it's up to the discretion of the dealer or your SA as to whether they will cover the drivetrain warranty still. You'd have to pretty ham fisted to tune an M156 motor to break something, but if it does just be forewarned. Long tubes I'm pretty sure will also void out MB's warranty. Just look at guys like JRCart though. He squirtin NOS and has just about every motor mod there is and hasn't had a big problem. Or DadsC63 and Mthis, both running crazy strong C63's..!!

Mine has a tune, but my dealer is pretty cool, and it'd probably be really hard to tell it has one since they've also flashed it 3 times in the last 15 months. IF it does blow and they void me, I'm prepared in my mind for that.

Just go for it..!! haha the only warranty work my car has had is 2 air shocks and a leaking intake manifold gasket to the heads.

I have removed my charcoal filters, installed K&N filters and removed my resonator... The car does seem a bit livelier! I heard with secondary cat delete the 63s can pick up additional 8-10 rwhp...

Do the resonator delete... Sounds much better IMO:

How easy is it to remove the charcoal filter and removed the resonator. Do you have to cut open the mufflers like tuna cans? The drone pretty loud after all this. I am sure it gets really loud. Hehe!!!

Citylightva, was at PPMBZ on Tuesday this week. Decided to get an injector cleasn and they reflashed the ECU for me. Said they could care less about the charc's being in or out. I asid ...too bad you guy's aren't a Kleemann/Brabus/Renntech, etc rep, and the said, or, we are a Kleemann Service center and cover all their mods.... Hmmm... I asked for the ECU re-flash tune price. This was was a surprise to both me and the new car salesrep I use their.

Charcoals are simple. Pull off your front engine cover. Loosen the ring worms at the back of the intake box. Unclip both MAF sensor harnesses. Remove 5 torx head bolts on each intake box. Pull the box up and out from the rear tube. Then just pry the charcoals out of the box and repeat the steps to put your charcoal free intake box back in

Hahaha I had no idea they were Kleeman...Though I just got my car back from their and had both of my intake manifold gaskets replaced. Car runs 100% better.!! So the charcoals are out again, since it kept throwing CEL's. The CEL's make a lot more sense now knowing about the leak. You coming to Cars & Coffee tomorrow..??

Will have to try out the charcoal removal and hope no codes get kicked. Enjoy the input here.

Well as we know it pretty much varies based on dyno's and cars . I dynoed on a mustang dyno with 5000 miles on the car and it was reading 330 hp , this was also NOT in dyno mode

Hi citylightva, saw your comment above last Saturday afternoon and it was too late - I did not know there was going to be a C&C in Dallas last weekend. Did enjoy the video's that were on the DFWAC site though... Btw, was back at Texas Motorplex last night. Improved my 1/4 time quite a bit. It's in the Confirmed E63 is... thread.

The 63 is definitely an expensive platform to mod. The long-tubes + custom tuned file have shown over and over to provide the most bang for your money. If you are concerned about smog, then you may have to go with short style headers. They will still add power, but noticeably less.

Tune and headers seem to be best bang for buck here. Not too impressed with Meisterschaft Mufflers and curious if anyone has just kept the factory cat back and installed a custom 2 1/2- 3" piping with amg tips and a muffler of choice. My brother keeps insisting I am nuts paying 3000 for a catback. Says do magnaflow or borla and be done with it for 400.
