RENNTECH ELM PICS AND QUESTION
Does your Renntech ELM leds flash even when your car is off? We hooked it to the power source they said in the manual which is a constant power. Is this correct? Here are some pics. on setting 2.

Nope, still on. They are LEDs so the draw is minimal but I am sure it should not stay on the entire time. I am unplugging it for now when its parked until I get a hold of Renntech Monday.

Yes. We wired in the wire they stated but the MB tech said he knew it was a constant power wire when he did it. But that is what the directions said to do.

mine is defo on all the time, only no this because I have just changed the ride height and I locked the car whilst walking round to see the new settings, when I looked in the Renntech v2 was flashing like a gooden!!!!

the convenience options disabled comes on to the dash if I do short journeys, only last about 30 seconds then okay, so yes it must be a strain on the battery!

Im just unplugging the box while it is sitting until I get ahold of Renntech next week. My MB tech said there was a switched power wire there that he can use which will power up with the rest of the car on start up.

Mine flashes....no it will not drain your battery. Ive had it installed for about 2 months now and love it. Your ecu will probably use more power just to have the security feature enabled..lol

Spoke with renntech today and the ELMs lights DO STAY ON by design. They dray a very minimum amt. of power they said and as long as it is driving and not sitting for longet then 3 months it should be ok.

P.S. great news to all the ELM V2 owners........The remotes that cost $599 are now on sale for $300!
